MTV has officially confirmed that LL Cool J will take the stage as the solo host of the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremony will air live on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from New York's UBS Arena. This year, the show will be simulcast on CBS and MTV, and streamed on Paramount+ for premium subscribers.
The show-host announcement was made on August 14, 2025. Notably, LL Cool J has a relatively long association with the VMAs.
