Oasis’ resurgence as a live act has brought masses of people out to experience what the band has to offer. Helmed by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, the UK band enjoyed its peak commercial success on international charts in the 90s, and appears to have a steadily growing fanbase. At the latest show on the Australian leg of the tour at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on November 1, a dangerous situation erupted when an unidentified person or group of people set off two separate flares mid-show. The incendiary devices were spotted flying into the section of the stadium allotted for floor seating, and at this time, it is still unclear if any injuries were sustained. As per Billboard, fans saw both Liam Gallagher and his brother Noel visibly displeased by the careless and potentially malicious act while on stage. They were performing one of their biggest hits, Champagne Supernova at the time. While Oasis did not comment on the situation as it unfolded, Liam Gallagher made his feelings clear the following day on social media. The often brash musician took to X and shared the following message,“To the massive C**T who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously f*cked up individual and you will get yours trust me”Liam Gallagher responds to flareAccording to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), stadium management ensured the media that the security protocol was followed to the letter, including pat-downs, wanding, and bag searches, though increased measures would be incorporated at future events.Oasis superfan Brad Bultman gave the following first-hand account of his experience once the flares went off,"Then very quickly I saw it explode and expand a bit further, and then somebody actually pick up the live flair and toss it back in the air and create more fire and smoke in a different area. I was like, 'Oh geez' - you hope nobody gets hurt."Before their Australia tour dates, Liam Gallagher and Oasis performed in Japan. It was their first time playing in the country in 16 years and their appearance also generated a substantial spike in streaming numbers across DSPs.For more on this story or other developing news, check out SoapCentral!
