Jordyn Woods has revealed that she's grieving the loss of her close friend to breast cancer.
Earlier this week, the 27-year-old model took to X to pen "F*ck Cancer." She followed it up with another tweet:
“Thank you for all of your prayers and concern. I had to bury one of the closest people to me yesterday after she lost her battle to breast cancer. Life isn't always fair. She will be missed tremendously."
Woods' boyfriend takes time off
Jordyn Woods also uploaded the same note on Instagram, where she followed it up with an image of her boyfriend, Karl-Anthony Towns, and seemingly, the late close friend in question.
The latter can be seen posing with Towns' signed jersey alongside the athlete, and Woods captioned the image with dove and heart emojis.
As for Towns, he missed his sixth game just this season on Tuesday, and according to the New York Post, coach Tom Thibodeau attributed it to him "needing some time."
The Independent has reported that when asked if Towns would be playing this week against the Lakers, Thibodeau revealed he wasn't sure:
“I can’t answer that. I just don’t know,” he said during a press conference on Tuesday ahead of the Knicks’ game against the Warriors. “When he’s ready to come back, obviously we want him back, but he just needs some time right now.”
Karl-Anthony Towns has yet to comment on the situation publicly. After he was traded to the Knicks from the Minnesota Timberwolves, he is now averaging 24.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per game, the Daily Mail has reported.
Towns and Jordyn Woods began dating in May 2020, after they met each other through mutual friends. He said in 2021 during an appearance on Woods’ Instagram series, Regular-ish:
“Me and Jordyn met years ago knowing common people and just became friends. And ever since then, our relationship grew where we became more than friends. I'm not saying in that way, but just best friends. And then we started having a deeper relationship."
At the time of writing, the identity of Jordyn Woods' close friend remains unclear.
