Former FaZe clan CEO FaZe Banks shared a series of Instagram stories on January 1, reflecting on 2025. The stories seemed to highlight his philosophy on life. Banks wrote:“Life is pain, but we ALWAYS have a choice. We essentially have zero control over what happens TO US. The most important things, the things that make us, US. What you look like, who your parents are, what your name is, race, sex, the era you're born in, your country of origin... we have almost no say in what feels like the most important aspects of our life. Never mind what the other 7 billion people are doing and how that affects you, ZERO.”FaZe Banks further wrote:“But what we have 100% control over, ALWAYS, is how we react and respond to those things happening TO US. To either make the most of what's in front of us, regardless of how fair or unfair, or to take this precious life for granted and live with a miserable perspective. This is 100% in your control.”According to Banks’ perspective, the power of having control is what separates a successful person from an unsuccessful one. This can also be applied to the difference between a winner and a loser, and the happy person and the sad one. FaZe Banks wrote:“And that's where God lives, in those decisions/ responses. I think that's the entire point. I think that's why we're here.”“Life is ultimately a string of experiences”: FaZe Banks writes about the importance of having a perspectiveIn his next story, FaZe Banks explained that good and bad are an integral part of one’s life. Nobody can escape that. According to him, these ideas are not only mutually exclusive but also extremely “complex.” In other words, he said that good and bad go together. Sharing his thoughts about life, he wrote:“Life is ultimately a string of experiences happening one after the other after the other. Like dominoes. But each experience happening, including the one that lead you to reading this message, was only made possible because you lived every single experience exactly the way you did prior to the one happening RIGHT NOW. Everything in your life had to happen exactly the way that it did for you to be in this very moment.”FaZe Banks also had some advice for the viewers. He wrote:“Remember that next time something "GOOD" is happening, and remember that it's only because you experienced all of the "BAD" before that. Literally the best experience you will ever live in your life will only have been made possible because of the worst one that happened before.”In his opinion, a person’s perspective is their guiding force in life. However, FaZe Banks mentioned that having a “good” perspective can help one wade through the worst. Banks wrote:“When life is "GOOD" stay humble, grounded, slow down and when it's "BAD" be confident, optimistic to a delusional degree. You have the power to manipulate the bad parts into good ones, entirely.
