Lo Bosworth opens up about endometriosis surgery just weeks after fiancé’s double-jaw operation: ‘We’ve been through a lot’

Lo Bosworth talks about her recent surgery, expressing how things have been tough for her and her family.

The Hills and Laguna Beach's Lo Bosworth got candid and talked about her health post-surgery. The surgery was performed to treat endometriosis and it happened around the same time her fiancé was recovering from a surgery for his double jaw. The TV personality attended the 13th Annual Endometriosis Foundation of America's Blossom Ball at The Pierre in New York City, on May 15, where she talked about her struggles:

"It was a bigger surgery and a more complex recovery than I anticipated. I felt really isolated and lonely throughout my recovery. I had my fiancé taking care of me, but I hadn't really told many people beyond just my immediate circle."

Earlier this year in March, she opened up about her struggles in an Instagram post. In the caption, she revealed,

"My diagnosis: endometriosis. And like many women who also suffer quietly from this incurable, chronic disease of pain, fatigue, fertility issues, and so much more - it took about a decade from first experiencing symptoms to finally undergoing laparoscopic surgery to confirm a diagnosis."

"She also expressed her emotions at the time, "How I’ve felt through it all? Grateful. Confused. Overwhelmed. Relieved. Validated. Scared. And … now recovering! I made this video almost a week ago, and I see a big difference in myself between that day and now. I’m less emotional, less ouchy, and determined to help spread the word."

Lo Bosworth also mentioned how she would have to go through laparoscopic surgery, and shared all of this to raise awareness about the reproductive issue that affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age around the world. Bosworth's efforts are commendable especially since there aren't many studies and data on it.

Endometriosis is defined as "a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus," according to the World Health Organization. Approximately 190 million women are reported to be suffering from it.

Who is Lo Bosworth's fiancé?

Lo Bosworth also revealed while attending the event that eight weeks after her surgery, her fiance, Dom Natale, underwent double-jaw surgery.

The reality star added, "We really formed such a strong unit. We've been through a lot, but he's the best. I couldn't ask for a better partner."

The duo got engaged this January as Lo Bosworth wrote on her Instagram post, "For you, my darling, it could only be a 'yes.' Thank you for being the best that one could be, for me. All my love, L," as she showcased her diamond engagement ring, with a square-shaped gem and thin band.
