"Looks like a kid walking with his dad"—Internet reacts to Jack Doherty holding his bodyguards’ hands after getting his chains snatched

In April 2025, YouTuber and former Kick streamer Jack Doherty's jewellery worth $300,000 was stolen in Los Angeles while he was on an outing. Almost two months after the incident, the YouTuber was seen walking on a street holding the hands of his bodyguard.

The video, posted by the X account “FearBuck” on June 5, 2025, was captioned:

“Jack Doherty seen holding his bodyguards’ hands while walking around after getting his chains snatched.”

While some social media users sympathized with Jack Doherty’s situation, others found humor in it. One X user commented:

"Looks like a kid walking with his dad.”

Several users joked about the awkwardness of the moment, while a few admitted they might react the same way.

“I get having security but why tf is he holding his hand like they’re a couple?!?!” a social media user wrote.

“I speak for everyone when I say WE all would do this,” a netizen reacted.

“This the most embarrassing shi I’ve ever seen ong,” a platform user opined.

While many netizens believed the video was staged or part of a prank, others compared Jack Doherty to a kid.

“Serving looks and attitude, always unbothered,” an online commentator shared.

“Lmfao this has to be a skit or a dare cuz ain’t no way bro is getting his hand held like a toddler,” a person claimed on X.

“My security better go get my jewelry back or he jobless,” a netizen joked.

Jack Doherty shared his experience of the robbery incident

At the time of the robbery incident, Jack Doherty was with his friends and security guards. He then addressed the camera, saying he hadn't even realized the officers were there because he was focused on struggling with the men and trying to protect his watch. Sharing his experience with a cameraman, he said:

“The chains were gone instantly...I get pinned up against the wall like this and I see my chains right there in this guy's hand.”

He later posted a video on his YouTube channel with Christi, explaining how the robbery occurred. Doherty shared that the day started with Christi wanting to go to La La Land.

However, they ended up at the wrong location, a souvenir store instead of the intended coffee shop, so they decided to head to Rodeo Drive for coffee instead. After parking the car, they walked to Starbucks, where a group of fans recognized Jack and asked him to try some candy.

After that, Jack, Christi, and Dave met the rest of their friends at the Cheesecake Factory. While they were ordering food, Christi asked Jack to step outside. As they stood outside, Jack turned around briefly, and Christi noticed a car pulling up with multiple doors opening at once.

She tried to warn him and grabbed his arm just as the attackers rushed in. She got pushed aside as the attackers cornered Jack against a wall and grabbed his chain. Jack said the attackers had already grabbed him by the neck and ripped off his chains before he had time to react.

Dave immediately jumped in and managed to pull the attackers off. Jack said it all happened so fast that he could barely see what was going on, and Christi witnessed most of it unfold.
