Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, has become somewhat of an international phenomenon. In the most recent news about the popular YouTuber, MrBeast was recently parodied on a skit featured on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live!
Once the sketch had gone viral, MrBeast made his feelings about the parody clear via a statement to Dexerto,
“I didn’t know they were gonna talk about me, but the second it aired, my phone blew up haha. Thought it was funny.”
While his expansive platform is no stranger to satire, it’s apparent that MrBeast maintains a good sense of humour amidst the noise.
MrBeast on SNL skit, more
The latest SNL skit featuring MrBeast was a play on the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast. Titled Beauty and Mr. Beast, the premise of the sketch was to depict an updated version of the universally known tale, albeit with the Beast character changing to MrBeast and exhibiting many of Donaldson’s on-camera eccentricities.
The parodied version of Donaldson uses challenges, a common archetype of his videos, only re-imagined as comically absurd. For example, the character states,
“I’m keeping her dad trapped in a dungeon for 30 days for a chance to win over $300,000. For every pound he loses, I’ll give a Tesla to a random stranger.”
Then, when the Belle character brings up marriage in the sketch, he has an equally obtuse (if not hilarious) response,
“Ok, I will marry you, Belle… if you can live for 30 days in a smart car with these two greased up sumo wrestlers.”
In other news, MrBeast’s Prime Video streaming hit Beast Games has been renewed for at least two new seasons after the first season’s glowing success. The reality television series boasts a $5 million cash prize, making it the highest total in the history of reality TV, as per Deadline.

In another interesting development, a fledgling Wisconsin-based politician has recently garnered masses of attention for his resemblance to MrBeast. While announcing his candidacy for the Wisconsin State Assembly in the 28th district, Brady Penfield was bombarded by messages across all social media platforms for his striking resemblance to the YouTuber. Some people were calling on him to lean into his similarities to MrBeast. It remains to be seen if he chooses to do so.
