K-pop girl group NewJeans has announced that all five members have officially returned to their agency, ADOR. It follows a year-long legal battle that has made significant headlines multiple times.

The news of NewJeans' return comes after a court ruling and internal discussions that brought them back under ADOR's management. The company has overseen the group since its debut.

In a joint official statement released on November 12, 2025, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle confirmed their return to the agency. They followed in Haerin and Hyein, who had previously shared their intention to continue with ADOR. The members stated that they had "carefully considered" their decisions before announcing their return.

Official statements from NewJeans and Ador

Announcing the official reunion, NewJeans members and Ador issued press statements. Minji, Hanni, and Danielle shared,

"After careful discussions, we have decided to return to Ador. One member is currently in Antarctica, which caused some delay in communication. As we have not received a response from Ador, we are announcing this separately. We will continue to meet our fans with sincere music and performances."

On the other hand, Ador also posted an update about Hyein and Haerin's "intention to continue their activities" with the agency. The statement read:

"[NOTICE] We at ADOR would like to inform you. NewJeans members Hyein and Haerin have expressed their intention to continue their activities with ADOR. After careful consideration with their families and thorough discussions with ADOR, the two members have made the decision to respect the court's ruling and comply with the exclusive contract."

It continued:

"ADOR will do its utmost to ensure that Hyein and Haerin can continue their entertainment activities smoothly. We kindly ask for the warm support of our fans and respectfully request that you refrain from any unfounded speculation regarding the members. Thank you."

The girl group debuted in July 2022 under Ador, which is a subsidiary of Hybe. The group gained attention for their chart-topping singles such as "Attention" and "Hype Boy." Their 2023 EP Get Up made history as it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. No other K-pop group had previously achieved this milestone at an early stage in their career.

In late 2024, the group filed to terminate their contracts with Ador. The agency also filed a lawsuit to affirm the validity of the contracts. The case reached the Seoul Central District Court, which ruled in favor of the company in October 2025. The court upheld the validity of NewJeans' exclusive contracts with Ador.

Now, as NewJeans is officially set to make a complete group return, netizens have been taking to social media to express their opinions on the matter. Below are some of their remarks:

"THEYRE HERE TO END LESSERAFIM & ILLIT ONCE AND FOR ALL WE CHEERED", stated an X user.
"I am still unbelievably proud of the girls for standing up for themselves. Praying they have good people around them to keep them safe from those Hybe demons", commented another.
"I feel bittersweet tbh. They can either pay billion and walk away OR wait till 2029 their contract end. No matter what i don’t think their parents or anyone can pay up that insane amount of money :( whatever is it i hope they get a new fresh start and finish their contract soon", penned a third.
