Nikki Glaser is a longtime stand-up comedian who has also hosted awards shows and televised comedy roasts in the past with her unapologetic style. Nikki Glaser is fresh off of hosting the 2026 Golden Globes, which took place in Los Angeles on January 11.

While Glaser provided the audience with several memorable moments over the course of the ceremony, perhaps the most memorable of all came when she shifted her focus to politics. The comedian held no punches back when referencing the government’s errant handling of the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

“I cannot believe the amount of star power we have in this room tonight. It’s insane. There are so many A-listers, and by A-listers I do mean people who are on a list that has been heavily redacted. And the Golden Globe for best editing goes to the Justice Department! And the award for most editing goes to CBS News! Yes, CBS News. America’s newest place to see B.S. News.”

Nikki Glaser did not stay on the topic of politics for long, and with the given state of affairs within the United States, her decision to do so seems justified.

Nikki Glaser's 2026 Golden Globe Highlights

While hosting an awards show with the stature of the Golden Globes is a daunting task, Nikki Glaser seemed equipped to handle it thanks to her unique disposition. Although not all her jokes landed with the same voracity, the general consensus seems to be that she did well in her duties as host.

After calling out the Justice Department and CBS News, the comic shifted her focus to George Clooney, who was nominated for his role in the recent film Jay Kelly.

“I’ve always wanted to ask you this question, and I know this is unprofessional, but I might not get a chance to do it again, so here it goes. My Nespresso has been coming out kind of watery, and I’m wondering, is it like a pod issue or you think it might be the filter? Could you troubleshoot it for me later?”

Clooney has been a longtime brand ambassador for Nespresso, which became the root of her riff on the actor.

The host then shifted her focus to Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, a powerhouse on-screen combo whose friendship has been on full display over the years in interviews and on social media.

“The Rock is here for the Smashing Machine. The Rock is nominated tonight and luckily for him, the TV show The Paper is not, so he might win. And Kevin Hart is here, yes. The Rock’s plus one-half.”

She went on to add,

“Kevin is obviously nominated for his hilarious stand-up special tonight. I love you so much, Kevin, you’re so funny. And you and The Rock together are like my favorite comedy duo. Such a classic comedy duo. You’re like a Steve Martin and Martin Short for people under 50 IQ.”

While Nikki Glaser made jokes at the expense of the nominees and stars in attendance, she also went out of her way to respect the work of the talent in the room. Overall, it was a strong hosting turn for the comedian whose role in next year’s Golden Globes ceremony is not yet confirmed.
