Victoria Beverley Walker, better known as viral pop artist PinkPantheress, made a true statement about what she stands for at her last show. While performing in New York City on October 25, the “Illegal” singer may have given us some insight regarding her political affiliations.
PinkPantheress was performing for a packed crowd, with visuals of the crowd behind her as set dressing. At one point in her set, the camera captured mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani in the audience, who took the opportunity to share a message with his voter base that was written on his palms in marker.
“Our time has come. Vote November 4”
The reactions to Mamdani’s appearance at the PinkPantheress show have been mixed on social media. While some fans see it as evidence that Mamdani is uniquely tapped into his voting base, others are curious as to the relevance of an artist from the UK making political statements in the United States.
PinkPantheress drops Fancy Some More
PinkPantheress is also fresh off releasing the follow-up to her sophomore mixtape, Fancy That. Fancy Some More, her much-awaited follow-up, was released on Friday, Oct. 10 via Warner Records UK, and her latest project has the internet abuzz.
PinkPantheress’ latest drop features remixes of the original 9 tracks from her Fancy That project. It has 22 tracks overall and features an impressive list of collaborators who hopped on board, including Kylie Minogue, Zara Larsson, Kaytranada, Groove Armada, and Basement Jaxx, to name a few.
In a recent press release, PinkPantheress shared her thoughts on what she wanted to provide her audience with her latest work.
“With this remix project, Fancy some more, I wanted to explore how the songs can live in different worlds while still holding onto the emotion of the original.”
She went on to add,
“Hearing other artists reimagine it has been so inspiring. Each remix brings a new energy and texture, while still keeping the heart of the track intact. It’s been so exciting to see Fancy That take on these new, international lives & global perspectives.”
PinkPantheress' Fancy That had the distinction of making two very special lists already: Billboard‘s 50 best albums of 2025 (so far) staff list and the 2025 Mercury Prize shortlist. Including international artists on a remix album of her sophomore success seems like a surefire way to keep the buzz going and ingratiate herself with a wider audience than ever before.
