Playboi Carti has been hit with a misdemeanor assault charge in Utah ahead of his performance in Salt Lake City.

The rapper, 28, legally known as Jordan Terrell Carter, has been charged with a class B misdemeanor in Wasatch County, as seen in the charging documents obtained by 2KUTV. He was reportedly involved in a brawl on October 2, a day before his kick-off performance in Salt Lake City for his "Antagonist 2.0 Tour."

Radar Online has reported that he got into a fight with a limousine driver. A report from the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office states that deputies responded to reports of a fight between two men near River Road and State Route 40. They were near two black SUVs. Shortly after, the driver called 911 to report that his client, allegedly the rapper, had assaulted him.

Everything we know about Playboi Carti's legal qualms:

Radar Online has reported that the driver informed authorities that he was driving Carti and his entourage for a rehearsal at the time, from a hotel in Park City to Utah Valley University. He claimed that Carti and his girlfriend began arguing at the back while smoking marijuana.

When he pulled over to intervene, he got dragged into a feud himself, he alleged. In the driver's statement, Playboi Carti's girlfriend allegedly got angry. When everyone left the car, the former hit her, and while the driver claimed he didn't witness this, he saw the girlfriend holding her chest.

He then alleged that the rapper punched him in the chest and the mouth.

He alleged he "turned my head for just a brief minute off to the right hand side, and this (expletive) hits me in the face; punches me in the (expletive) face," per Hoodline.

TMZ has reported that another driver for the same limo company witnessed the debacle. Just Jared has reported that investigations by the Wasatch County police are currently ongoing.

As of this writing, Playboi Carti's tour is in full swing, with a wrap-up date slated for December 1 in Atlanta. Radar Online has also reported that the driver sustained bruises on his jaw, and official reports also outline the visible swelling and redness that are consistent with being struck.

The driver reportedly denied medical treatment. Officers also noticed inconsistencies in the witness accounts, per Radar Online. While Playboi Carti's girlfriend claimed she hit the driver herself because he "got involved in her business," the rapper's bodyguard took responsibility instead.

However, the rapper has since reportedly admitted to throwing the punch himself, claiming that he did so because the driver had stopped "in a weird place" at the time.
