Pokimane claims her team cancelled a podcast episode featuring her and HasanAbi (Hasan Piker) without her approval.
In an October 13 tweet, Pokimane, while responding to a Dexterto post about a cancelled podcast episode featuring her and HasanAbi, claimed that her team refused to upload it because they believed it would stir drama.
"the episode was supposed to air as usual but staff refused to upload it out of fear it'd cause drama & also posted this statement without my approval :( sorry guys! we'll talk about everything on this week's episode & go on a hiatus afterwards to restructure."
Last week, the Sweet n Sour podcast, which Pokimane co-hosts with LilyPichu, shared a statement announcing that an episode featuring the Twitch streamer would not be uploaded following Piker's current controversy. Piker allegedly used a shock collar on his dog, which did not sit well with the internet.
While noting that the October 11 episode would not be posted, the Sweet n Sour announcement read:
"We've been watching the recent drama unfold concerning our guest and it's been getting intense. We had a serious talk as a crew, and we all argued that it did not feel right uploading tomorrow's episode at this moment in time."
What is the HasanAbi dog abuse controversy?
Twitch streamer HasanAbi, or HasanPiker, was accused of activating a shock collar on his dog last week.
In another stream, Piker acknowledged that he uses a behavior modification collar for Kaya:
"This is one of Kaya's many collars. This is the one that people are talking about."
Since the incident, Piker has denied claims of using the shock collar and claimed that some "crazy haters" stirred the controversy.
"They're claiming the most well trained and most spoiled, best kept-after dog on the planet is actually being abused by me apparently. Because I gave her the place command while she was getting off (the bed) and then she yelped."
He added,
"I suspect it's coming from, you know, some crazy haters. They said you shocked her with a button. Yeah, in my evil lair. Good thing I didn't hit the f***ing trap door button on accident."
Piker is yet to react to Pokimane's cancelled episode statement.
