A TikTok live video reportedly captured the moment when a user, identified as Tea_Tyme_3, allegedly hit a pedestrian last week. The incident occurred in the suburb of Zion, Illinois, in Chicago. The Zion Police Department is currently investigating the crash.

According to TMZ, the accident happened on November 3. The pedestrian who was hit by the 2015 Ford Edge has been recognized as Darren Lucas. As for the person behind the wheel, she has been identified as Ty Nesha, according to the New York Post. TMZ reported that she is 43 years old, and at the time of the accident, the voice of a younger passenger can be heard in the background of the TikTok live video.

TMZ has reported that Darren Lucas was taken to Vista East Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Lucas, who worked at a grocery store across the street where he was hit, passed away due to blunt force injuries, the New York Post reported. Additionally, it was not a hit-and-run case because the woman herself called 911 and stayed at the scene of the accident to speak with the investigators.

What footage did the TikTok live video allegedly capture from the fatal crash?

According to the short clip of the TikTok live video shared by TMZ, the footage revealed a woman behind the driver's seat, talking to the camera, before a thud can be heard, followed by a scream.

A muffle of voices can be heard in the background. One voice, which belonged to a younger passenger, asked:

"What was that?"

While another voice, which presumably was the driver, can be heard saying:

"I just hit somebody."

It was followed by a question:

"You okay?" followed by several curse words.

The TikTok live video abruptly ended after that.

More details from the crash

According to information obtained by the New York Post, Lieutenant Paul Kehrli of the Zion Police Department shared with a local news outlet called Lake and McHenry County Scanner, revealing that no drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal car crash.

While Darren Lucas' family is grieving him, Ty Nesha decided to post on social media, asking for donations. She said:

"My CashApp up there if y'all wanna support while I’m on mental leave... You know I don't like asking y'all for sh*t, but if y'all … find it in y'all's heart and y'all wanna support, my CashApp is right there... If y'all wanna pour something in, y'all are more than welcome to do that."

The post has been shared with a restricted audience, and only limited individuals can see it. She continued:

"I will be OK. I am taking things one day at a time. I'm good, you guys."

She then shamelessly added that she has "been writing," adding that she "got a new album series coming out."

At present, no arrest has been made, but the police are still investigating the video to verify its authenticity.
