Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, caused an uproar after he visited Dodger Stadium on October 28 wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat at the finale of World Series Game 4. The Prince was present at the event along with his wife, Meghan Markle, and rather than celebrating the Toronto Blue Jays of Canada, he is supposed to have celebrated the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Harry, who is in Toronto for Remembrance Day events, laughed off the incident while giving an interview to CTV News.

When a journalist from CTV News asked Harry,

"Is there anything you would like to say about wearing that L.A. DOdgers hat last week and getting into hot water?"

Prince Harry, with a laugh, responded,

"Oh, the L.A Dodgers hatgate. Well, firstly, I would like to apologize to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn't much choice. I was invited to the L.A Dodgers box or the dugout by the owner himself. So, I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do."

Prince Harry then put on the Toronto Blue Jays' hat and said,

"I'm going to wear this from now on to make sure I don't make any more of those mistakes."

"I'm very sorry to the Canadian Public" - Prince Harry apologizes for the Hat mix-up

While speaking to CTV News at a Remembrance Day event in Toronto, Prince Harry apologized for wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers Hat to a Toronto Blue Jays match. He joked about being bald and said,

"When you're missing a lot of hair on top and you're sitting under flood lights, you'll take any hat that's available."

The UK royal also admitted that he was a "Blue Jays throughout" and wrapped the conversation with an apology to Canada's Blue Jays' fans,

"I'm very sorry to the Canadian public. I'm devastated that the Blue Jays lost, but go Jays."

Fans had earlier criticized the UK royal, claiming that he should've backed a team from a Commonwealth country rather than from his new home, California. The Dodgers went on to win Game 7 against the Blue Jays and were ultimately declared World Series champions.

Meghan Markle and her husband, Harry, moved to California in 2020 after they stepped down from their royal duties. The two have been living in California for the past five years. The Prince, while during an appearance on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn't Know podcast, noted that he has "no plans" to be a U.S citizen.
