Princess Kate is adding “filmmaker” to her royal résumé, and her debut is as heartfelt as it gets. The Princess of Wales just launched Mother Nature, a new video series she personally helped create, where she dives into how the outdoors helped her heal during her cancer treatment.
Spring, the first episode, was unveiled on May 12 through Kensington Palace’s social media pages. It’s a 3-minute short film, narrated by Kate herself, and features stunning shots of her and Prince William walking through the scenic Isle of Mull earlier this month.
And yes, it’s as soothing as it sounds.
“Over the past year, nature has been my sanctuary. The natural world's capacity to inspire us, to nurture us and help us heal and grow is boundless and has been understood for generations.”
Mother Nature will continue through the year, with Summer, Autumn, and Winter episodes expected to come.
But it’s more than just pretty landscapes. In the episode, Kate gets real about how connecting with nature gave her hope during a dark time.
“Spring is a season of rebirth, of hope and new beginnings. Just as nature revives and renews so too can we. Let us reconnect to nature and celebrate a new dawn within our hearts.”
With calm music, sweeping nature scenes, and Kate’s reflective words, the video feels more like a short film than a royal PSA. But it also packs a message for today’s digital world: go outside and reconnect with nature, yourself, and the people around you.
“As we confront the challenges of an increasingly complex and digital world, the importance of the connection between humanity and nature takes on even more significance. The Mother Nature series is a reminder and reflection of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.”
Signed simply with a “C,” this project feels more personal than polished, and that’s exactly what makes it stand out.
With this series, the Princess of Wales quietly reminds us that healing often starts with stepping outside.
James Middleton opens up about sister Kate’s cancer battle and family support: “It was a challenging time”
James Middleton is opening up about his sister Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis and how it impacted their family.
In his recent interview with The Times, the author-entrepreneur spoke about the emotional challenges they faced when Kate revealed she was undergoing cancer treatment in March 2024.
“It was a challenging time. As a family, you learn to process things together. It’s about communication and offering support where you can.”
He emphasized the importance of unconditional support, saying:
“Being there for someone doesn’t need to be on your terms. It should be on theirs—because you love them.”
James also touched on his own mental health struggles, including a diagnosis of depression and ADHD in 2017. He credited his family, including Kate and their sister Pippa, for supporting him through therapy.
In his book Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James shares how his family’s love and support helped him through his darkest moments.
As for Kate’s health journey, James expressed pride in how the family stuck together:
“We are a close family. It’s always important to have support around you.”
