Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently in federal court mounting his defence for his sex-trafficking trial with his legal team, which is about to wrap up its third week. On May 22, Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi was present in the courtroom to testify in Combs’ federal trial. After the prosecution introduced photos into evidence showing Cudi's Porsche post a Molotov cocktail attack, the Mr. Rager rapper asserted that Combs was responsible for the attack.

Lance Jimenez, a Los Angeles Fire Department arson investigator, testified that the device was assembled using just three items: an Olde English 800 bottle, gasoline, and a designer handkerchief and a lighter, according to People. The images of Cudi's blue sports car are now part of official trial exhibits.

They show severe fire damage to various parts of the vehicle, as well as items thought to possibly have contributed to the pointed attack. The incident in question occurred outside Cudi’s home in the Hollywood Hills in 2012.

Kid Cudi’s role in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ federal trial

Prior to Kid Cudi appearing in court to participate in the on-going litigations, Combs’ ex, Cassie Ventura, was called upon for testimony. Among many explosive revelations shared about her time with the Bad Boy mogul, Ventura highlighted her relationship with Kid Cudi in particular.

According to several reports, she told Diddy that nothing was happening with Cudi, but Combs had a tendency to get violent when confronted with jealousy. Combs found out through other sources that there was in fact something allegedly happening between Cassie and the up-and-coming rapper, and he decided to take matters into his own hands.

When testifying in court, Cudi claimed that Ventura had been dishonest with him about Diddy’s role in her life. He claimed to have only entered into a brief relationship with Cassie because she assured him that she had parted ways with Combs for good which was reportedly not the case. Cudi's assessment of his tryst with Ventura is that both he and Combs got the short end of the stick, as evidenced by his testimony when cross-examined by Combs's attorney Brian Steel.

"Both of you guys were played, right?" Steel asked the rapper.

To this, he replied in the affirmative from the witness stand, “Yes”. Steel pressed on with his line of questioning:

“The same person who played you played Sean, Ms. Ventura. True?”

To which Cudi replied in the affirmative once more, “True”.

Prior to the fire bombing in 2012, Kid Cudi testified that he picked up a distressed Ventura up and took her to a West Hollywood Hotel. Then, he got a call from someone on Combs' payroll alleging Combs was waiting for him at his Los Angeles home. Upon arriving at his home Cudi found no intruders, although Christmas presents had been opened and his dog was locked in a bathroom.
