IShowSpeed has revealed that he was nearly involved in a harrowing freak accident after his safety cord was seemingly improperly tethered on his 1,000-foot jump off the Strat Tower in Las Vegas.
In a video going viral online, the streamer, born Darren Watkins Jr., 20, can be seen reviewing a video of himself doing the jump. However, he also pointed out that "the strap was disconnected," putting him at risk.
"What the hell? I didn't even know that," he said, visibly in shock.
Fans have since begun reacting to the video with gratefulness that nothing went wrong, such as this one X user who remarked:
"Speed really dodged a bullet there"
The comments didn't end there:
"Bro really out here living on the edge. Speed just jumped off the Strat Tower and almost had his cord betray him, 1,000 feet of pure chaos energy and he’s somehow still tweeting about it," someone pointed out.
"Only Speed could turn a near-death fall into prime content," another quipped.
"Speed’s guardian angel working OT. man really dodged a Final Destination moment fr," one more noted.
"That's terrifying. I've done bungee jumps before and triple-checking equipment is literally life or death," a fourth user weighed in.
See how the rest of X is reacting:
"oh nah... Speed better ask Adin for his lawyers," someone demanded.
"Thats the easiest lawsuit right there," another echoed.
"Streamers literally risking their lives for views now. The content economy is getting out of hand," one more opined.
"Yikes! That’s a close call—glad he’s safe. One wrong move at 1,000 feet and it would’ve been catastrophic. Safety first, Speed!" yet another user exclaimed.
Scores were visibly afraid for IShowSpeed, with many noting that they were glad he's safe.

In the video, a Black Audi can be seen colliding with someone on a bike at an intersection before absconding. In another video, the streamer can be heard shouting "Go! It’s green!" at the car, which is when it hits the biker before making a run for it.
IShowSpeed then hurled expletives at the driver:
"They got the hit-and-run news on the news," Speed later said on the stream. "He’s dumb, bro. … They literally got you on the news, and they’re following you."
