Erika Kirk and Charlie Kirk met back in 2018 during a job interview, after which they began dating. They later tied the knot a few months later, in May 2021, and welcomed their first child, a daughter in 2022. The couple also shared another child born in 2024.

In her recent interview with journalist Jesse Watters of Fox News, Erika Kirk described the atmosphere at the hospital following Charlie Kirk's passing. She explained that the doctor initially advised her not to look at her husband until he was taken to the mortuary, but she decided against it. She said:

"He was very sweet, but what do you say to someone whose husband just was assassinated so publicly? He said, ‘I will never tell you that you cannot see your husband... but I in my professional opinion, think that you should wait to see him... Because I don't think you want to see him like this.'"

She further added:

"And I responded back to him... ‘with all due respect, sir... I want to see what they did to my husband, and I want to give him a kiss, because I didn't get to give him a kiss this morning.’”

Erika Kirk also described the emotions she felt when she saw Charlie Kirk's body, saying he appeared to have a smirk on his face. She said:

"When we walked into that room ... he had this smirk on his face. That smirk to me is that look of 'you thought you could stop what I've built. You thought that you could end this vision, this movement, this revival, you thought you could do that by murdering me. You got my body, you didn't get my soul."

In the interview, she also revealed that she pushed to have cameras in the courtroom during Tyler Robinson's trial for the murder of Charlie Kirk, adding that the case will supposedly "impact a generation and generations to come."
