Seth Meyers is one of the talk show hosts who pointed out President Donald Trump accepting the "fake peace prize from FIFA." In Monday's episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host humorously opened the show by saying:

"Donald Trump got a fake peace prize from FIFA and said we should change the name of American football because soccer is the real football — something that would have made Donald Trump furious if anyone besides Donald Trump had said it."

He continued to say:

"Donald Trump has been desperate his entire life for human connection — I'm just kidding, for big old shiny awards."

Furthermore, Meyers also shared a few clips of President Trump in the past with the audience. Before he became president, Donald Trump was actually a host on the American reality television series, The Apprentice, from 2004 to 2015. In the clips Seth shared, Trump was complaining about not winning certain awards or bragging about winning awards that were not very important.

Seth Meyers says, "Trump was so easily swayed by the special trophy"

Seth Meyers also shared a clip of the President when he was a host, talking about how he has never won an Emmy. In Seth Meyers' words:

"In his previous life as a game show host, he was obsessed with the fact that he never won an Emmy."

The video also showed a segment from Season 14 of The Celebrity Apprentice, where Trump shared with contestants, Geraldo Rivera and Vivica A. Fox, that he was so sure that he would win an Emmy, he stood up and walked towards the stage before the winner was even announced.

Meyers quipped, saying:

"If I stood up and started walking for an Emmy I did not win, I would not stop walking until I had submerged myself in the Pacific Ocean."

However, coming to the FIFA prize that was presented to Donald Trump. The event was watched by millions as President Gianni Infantino gave President Donald Trump a golden trophy and a medal at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

During the event, Trump mentioned how Americans do not call the sport by its actual name, and added:

"... because we had a little bit of a conflict with another thing that's called football. But when you think about it, shouldn't it really be called, I mean, this is football, there's no question about it, we gotta come up with another name for it."

To this, Seth Meyers commented:

"... gambit worked exactly as planned... Trump was so easily swayed by the special trophy."

Seth Meyers used humor to highlight how easily Donald Trump is impressed by awards. He is even calling out his acceptance of a "fake peace prize" from FIFA. He also showed old clips from The Apprentice, reminding viewers that Trump has always been obsessed with recognition and trophies. In the end, Meyers joked that the FIFA prize worked perfectly because Trump was quickly won over by the trophy.
