During a night out with her boyfriend, Common, on Tuesday, Jennifer Hudson was slammed into by Knicks guard Miles McBride.

At the time, she was sitting alongside Common at the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden when McBride, who was trying to chase a deflected pass in the second quarter, accidentally rammed into her and knocked off her glasses. At the same time, Common accidentally bopped her with his hand while trying to protect her.

A clip of the incident has since been going viral, drawing varied reactions from users. Here's what someone said, for instance:

The comments didn't end there, though, as scores echoed the sentiments, lauding the television personality for handling the debacle so well:

"I died when I saw her glasses dangling from her face, Love you, Jennifer!" one fan quipped.
"I will never understand why yall bother sitting court side unless yall secretly enjoy getting hit in the face," someone else opined.
"Imagine paying all that money for court side seats and getting hit in the head with a basketball," a third person chimed in.

Even more chimed in to share their own remarks on the situation:

"No! Hope Jennifer Hudson is alright and recovers quickly," one well-wisher penned.
"She’s never gonna sit courtside again," someone else jested.
"She took it like a CHAMP," another echoed.
"I feel bad for her but her reaction is taking me out imaooooo," yet another joked.

Some users even joked that they should be avenging her.

Jennifer Hudson and boyfriend Common ready to tie the knot? Here's what we know so far

In the seconds after Jennifer Hudson got body-slammed, TNT play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle said on the broadcast, "Protect Jennifer Hudson!!" TNT analyst Greg Anthony chimed in to point out that her glasses "look real expensive, too." The 43-year-old was then pulled into an embrace by her 52-year-old beau, as she appeared visibly distressed and shaken up.

Hudson and Connor revealed that they were dating in January 2024, two years after rumors began swirling that they were together. They have since been hinting that they are headed for marriage, as Common declared that Jennifer Hudson is "the person" he would marry, as reported by Hello! Magazine.

Just this past July, he sat down on his partner's talk show to double down on his claim that if he were ever going to marry, it would be to her. When the Oscar winner asked him to elaborate on what he meant, he said:

"You told me a quote that your mother said, 'A man knows what he wants.' I was saying my true feelings about, listen, Jennifer is the person. If I should be married, it will be to Jennifer Kate Hudson. You know what I'm saying? I was just being honest. Where do you stand on that?"

Jennifer Hudson responded:

"You know what? My mother was right. I think if she had met you, she would've said, 'I don't know about the rest of them but that Common is alright with me!' That's what she would say, and I would agree. I think [marriage] is a beautiful thing I think you are a deserving man and, you know, I support that idea."

In turn, an elated Common replied by noting that he's

"listening to God more and more and I know what purpose is and I feel like this is purpose right here, you and I."

As reported by the magazine, however, while Jennifer shares the sentiment, she doesn't think wedding bells are in the near future for the two of them. Speaking with Extra, she said that the two have "a lot of things happening," adding that while she "loves" the idea and thinks that "he's a beautiful man, but we're gonna take our time. Neither one of us is in a rush. We're very happy as we are."
