A video of a streamer missing out on the chance to attend Kai Cenat's famed Streamer University is going viral.
In a clip circulating online, a streamer can be seen recounting how, ahead of the course, Kai Cenat invited him to join him. The latter was his only viewer, and the streamer backed his claims up by sharing a screen recording of Kai's invite, whose comments in the chat read as follows:
"I'm your only viewer. hello. wassup. I'm in your chat. I'm your only viewer. do you see me. invitation or nah? nah ? ok bye."
The streamer can be seen lamenting the missed opportunity as fans flood his comments section to mock him for the blunder.
For the unversed, Kai Cenat launched Streamer University, which saw 120 aspiring applicants, comprising content creators and influencers, come together to learn the art of making it big in their respective fields. It featured industry figures taking on the role of professors, including India Love, Duke Dennis, and RaKai.
Notably, Kai Cenat himself acknowledged the encounter, as seen in a clip circulating on X:
"I invited a person to streamer university yesterday while he was streaming," he said. "I was the only viewer in his chat. He was not paying attention to me, and he never seen it," he noted.
Kai Cenat on why he turned down offers from Netflix and Amazon to broadcast Streamer University on the platforms
Kai Cenat kicked off his Streamer University at the University of Akron. The 23-year-old Twitch-cum-YouTube star is known for pulling viral pranks and has since been named among Rolling Stone's 20 most influential creators in 2023.
He boasts 17.3 million followers on the streaming platform, making him the most-subscribed-to user this far. He also has 12.7 million subscribers on YouTube and 14.4 million followers on Instagram.
Cenat recently revealed that he turned down offers from major production houses like Netflix and Amazon to broadcast his latest entrepreneurial venture, and during a recent live stream, said that it was because he wanted to retain complete creative control and authenticity over the program.
As reported by Hype Beast, he thought the platforms would have “turned this into a polished show” instead of reality TV. "It’s real life, real people and real learning,” he said:
“With an idea like this so original, you gotta keep it where it’s at. I want y’all to learn something, bro. Y’all channels, and who you are as a person… This y’all idea, this is your guy’s stuff. Treat your platform as you would treat as you would treat other platforms. Shout out to all these big platforms, they have subscriptions, bro. Twitch, I think of it all like this: If you gonna sub up, you gonna get some good shit. Y’all have the opportunity to make y’all platforms as big as other platforms," he noted.
Kai Cenat single-handedly funded Streamer University and independently produced the all-expenses-paid venture.
