Taylor Sheridan is now reported to have signed a new mega deal that will see him work with NBCUniversal. According to Deadline, the news has come as quite the shock to many, as the famed director is currently signed to Paramount, where he has gone on to create shows like "The Mayor of Kingstown," and "Tulsa King."According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Sheridan is one of the top talents at Paramount, where his first work dates back to 2017 with the release of "Yellowstone." In a 2023 interview with the outlet, Sheridan reflected on his journey from being an actor to becoming a director. He said:“I was a fair actor, but that’s all I was ever going to be. Hollywood will tell you what you’re supposed to do if you listen. If you’re banging your head against the wall for 20 years trying to be an actor, maybe you shouldn’t be an actor. But the first thing I ever wrote [the pilot for Mayor of Kingstown in 2011] got me meetings at every major network, at every agency. David Glasser, who is often known to collaborate with Sheridan, is also set to move to NBCUniversal.Glasser, who co-founded Studios 101, has signed a "first-look film and TV deal" with NBCUniversal, which is set to begin sometime in early 2026. In an interview back in August, Cindy Holland, the Chair of Direct-to-Comsumer, highligted Paramount's partnership with Taylor Sheridan, and said:"On Paramount+ today, we have a really great foundation, which is the Taylor Sheridan universe."Moreover, David Ellison, the current CEO of Paramount, emphasized the studio's commitment to maintaining a partnership with Sheridan. He said:"[Taylor Sheridan] is a singular genius with a perfect track record. We can just make this his home for as long as he wants to tell stories."Not much is known about the exact details of Sheridan's deal, but according to Variety, Sheridan's partnership with NBCUniversal, particularly in relation to creating new films, is expected to begin next year.
