Candace Owens recently shared notable remarks on social media criticizing the alleged #MeToo movement which is related to the Harvey Weinstein case. She also questioned some aspects of a rape allegation.

Candace Owens shared her comments in response to an X post by journalist Yashar Ali. He defended Jennifer Siebel Newsom and described her experience with Harvey Weinstein as "rape". Notably, Candace Owens' reply included the line,

"The stupidity of #metoo just hurts."

Yashar Ali made a long post via his official X (formerly Twitter) page. He wrote:

"Implying that Jennifer Siebel Newsom who has no control over the Newsom Office account had some sort of financial or work relationship with Harvey Weinstein in exchange for sex is absolutely disgusting. Jennifer was raped by Harvey Weinstein."

He also added,

"I was one of the people the Beverly Hills Police Department interviewed about this because months before the Weinstein story became public, Jennifer warned me that a friend of mine should stay away from Harvey."

Candace Owens replied, saying,

"Yeah she was so scared that after the rape that she endured she regularly emailed Harvey to invite him over for fundraisers for Gavin. The stupidity of #metoo just hurts. She was an aspiring actress and then she became the wife to a powerful politician and did not want to come clean to him about just how aspirational of an actress she was."

What did Yashar Ali claim regarding the Harvey Weinstein case?

Yashar Ali stated that he felt compelled to respond because he allegedly had knowledge of the situation involving Harvey Weinstein and Jennifer Siebel Newsom. Jennifer is a documentary filmmaker and actress.

Ali claimed that Siebel Newsom was raped by Weinstein. He also claimed that he had been interviewed by the Beverly Hills Police Department after she allegedly warned him privately to keep a friend away from Weinstein.

Yashar Ali wrote that Jennifer Siebel Newsom had "been through hell as it relates to Harvey" and described her alleged fear whenever Weinstein's name came up. He also refuted claims that she allegedly had a transactional or professional relationship with Weinstein in exchange for sex and called such implications "absolutely disgusting."

He also addressed some allegations involving other political figures. He seemingly tried to highlight distinctions between different cases.

Notably, Harvey Weinstein spoke to Candace Owens during his retrial. The episodes were released in May 2025. He said,

"I believe women should be heard but I am wrongfully convicted."

Owens described Harvey Weinstein as someone punished by the alleged "woke masses." She also said,

"It definitely looked like the Me Too movement got so big that they needed to sort of hang somebody."

As of now, neither Harvey Weinstein nor Jennifer Siebel Newsom has issued any official statement on Candace Owens' or Yashar Ali's claims.
