Fans are not too thrilled with OnlyFans model Camilla Araujo sauntering down the red carpet at this year's Met Gala.
In clips circulating on X, the actress can be seen smiling and waving at paparazzi as she blows them a kiss. The internet personality, born in May 2002, is a popular Brazilian model and social media sensation.
She has millions of followers across OnlyFans, Instagram, and TikTok, though on X, fans don't seem all that happy with her being invited to the festivities on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Here's how one user reacted, for instance:
"They just be letting anyone in"
The comments didn't end there:
"Y’all still care about who goes to these?" one user probed.
"Why is she there," someone else questioned.
"She’s a great influencer why not," another defended.
"Onlyfans models get invited to Met Gala now???" yet another asked.
Even more chimed in with their opinions:
"If you ever wonder what's wrong with this world, just look at something like this," one user penned.
"She must have paid to be invited," another posited.
"Everyday since 2016 I’ve seen things that make you lose hope in society. everything is backwards," someone else chimed in.
"Bet she looked fire, gotta respect the hustle," an X user appreciated.
A handful of users appreciated the model as well, though an overwhelming number of them did call out the Met Gala for inviting "just anyone."
Who is Camilla Araujo and why has she been in the headlines lately?
For the unversed, Camilla Araujo was first propelled to fame on MrBeast's Squid Game video in 2021. At the time, she signed up as contestant 067 in the latter's viral recreation of Netflix's show of the same name, a video that has since amassed over 800 million views.
Notably, earlier last month, she sat down for a controversial interview with OnlyFans star Bonnie Blue, the latter of whom is known for her provocative stunts. During the segment, Bonnie invited Araujo to join her in her latest quest, which was to get intimate with 2,000 men in 24 hours.
“I always get nervous. When I do the first few people, I’m more nervous than what they are, and then after I’ve warmed up a bit, I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ve got this.’ But they get nervous. They’re nervous, then it makes me nervous sometimes," Bonnie said.
Camilla Araujo, however, responded hesitantly:
“Hit me up when you’re ready to do the 2,000. I’m nervous.” To which Bonnie encouraged her, “I’ll teach you. We’re going to have to get a little toyboy to use for demonstrations.”
As for the backlash surrounding her Met Gala appearance, Camilla Araujo has yet to issue a statement or acknowledge it.
