Seth Meyers poked fun at President Donald Trump's return to TikTok during his Late-Night show
In response to Trump’s TikTok post, Meyers said that his videos on the social media platform could be “75 minutes long.” As per a report in Mashable, Meyers said:
“Great news for anybody who likes their TikToks 75 minutes long.”
He went on to joke about Trump's old age, and said:
“President Trump addressed 'the young people of TikTok. Dude, again, you're 79. They're all young people to you. You're so old you could have addressed the 'young people of Facebook.'”
Trump made his very first post on TikTok ever since he was elected as the president in the 2024 elections. Addressing the “young people” on the platform, he said that they owe him big because he “saved TikTok.”
This is not the first time Seth Meyers mocked Trump. Here are the details.
Instances when Seth Meyers mocked Trump
Seth Meyers has a long history of poking fun at President Donald Trump. In 2011, when Meyers worked as a head writer for Saturday Night Live and host of SNL’s Weekend Update, he mocked Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
He joked about his presidential ambitions and said at that time:
“Donald Trump has been saying that he will run for president as a Republican… which is surprising, since I just assumed he was running as a joke.”
He continued:
“Gary Busey said recently that Donald Trump would make a great president. Of course, he said the same thing about an old rusty birdcage he found.”

During an interview with The Atlantic in 2018, Seth Meyers said:
“I still think Trump is the fault of the people who voted for him. I would feel so bad had this happened and in 2011 I hadn’t made jokes about him. He was behaving terribly then. "
Meyers further added:
One of the most offensive things he’s done was this idea that Barack Obama wasn’t born here. Trump was asking for it. I look back on that night, despite everything that’s happened, very fondly.”
Ever since Seth Meyers became the host of the Late Night show in 2014, he has never shied away from criticising Trump. According to a report in The New York Times, Meyers said in August 2024 that Trump returned to the X platform only because he is “desperate” for attention. Calling his X livestream “disastrous,” Meyers said that Trump:
“is desperate for the spotlight and for some praise or positive coverage from anyone, anywhere.”
After Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, Trump is now targeting Seth Meyers. Deadline reported that he slammed NBC for reportedly extending the contract of Meyers despite his late-night show’s low ratings.
In a post on Truth Social in September, Trump wrote:
“There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers. He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child. So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope’s contract. I don’t know, but I’ll definitely be finding out!!!”
Clapping back at Trump, Meyers quipped that he has “always admired and respected Mr. Trump” and any negative remarks from him were “just AI.”
