Megyn Kelly comes to Sydney Sweeney's defense over the latter's American Eagle ad backlash. The former Fox News host took to X, to blast Beyonce, after the singer was featured wearing a blonde wig and denim in a new Levi's ad campaign,
"This is the opposite of the Sydney Sweeney ad. Quite clearly there is nothing natural about Beyonce. Everything - from her image to her fame to her success to her look below - is bought and paid for. Screams artificial, fake, enhanced, trying too hard.'
This comes after Sydney Sweeney was featured in a new American Eagle ad, where the title, mentioned, "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans." In the video ad for the campaign, Sydney can be seen talking about how jeans are passed from
"parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color."
Her ad drew backlash with social media users claiming that it was "eugenics" coded and promoted white supremacy by featuring a blonde, all white, blue eyed actress.
Megyn Kelly calls out to "lunatic left" for Sydney Sweeney ad backlash
This isn't the first time Megyn Kelly has spoken publicly in support of Sydney Sweeney and her American Eagle ad. Last week, Kelly took to her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, and said,
"She's being called a white supremacist by people who don't like her latest ad, which is for American Eagle."
She continued,
"She's advertising jeans, and yet the lunatics on the left think she's advertising white supremacy. This is obviously a reference to her body and not to her skin color, but the lunatic left is going to what the lunatic left is going to do."
Megyn also addressed that critics are upset over who was chosen to represent "America's Best Genes",
"They think it's no accident that they've chosen a white, thin women because you're, I guess, not allowed to celebrate those things in any way, shape or form. But they're completely ignoring the reference to her body, which is the thing she's famous for. It's just absurd."
Over the weekend, many Republicans including US President Donald Trump have come out in support of the Euphoria actress, after one BuzzFeed News article revealed that the actress is a registered Republican.
Trump had described the ad as the "hottest ad out there" and argued that "WOKE is for losers." Danica Patrick, a former NASCAR star who earlier backed Donald Trump's 2024 campaign, took to Instagram stories on July 28, claiming that the backlash surrounding the ad confused her.
