"This is the ugliest design": Netizens react to Apple unveiling iPhone 17 Pro model and its available colors

Apple during it's "Awe Dropping" event in Cupertino on September 9 unveiled the new iPhone 17 line-up, which includes a slimmed-down model version called iphone Air. The new iPhone 17 models feature 48MP Fusion Main camera with an optical-quality 2x Telephoto; and a new 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. These also feature 6.3 inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, Ceramic Sheild 2, and A19 chip.

The new iPhone will be available from 256GB of storage upto a 512GB option. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on September 12, and availability will begin on September 19. After the launch was unveiled, netizens took to social media with mixed reactions on the new design and details.

While commenting on Pop Base's repost of the design of iPhone 17 Pro, a user (@blonkstruggle) called the new model "ugly": "This is the ugliest design of iphones."
Another user (@Roseemadeit) claimed that the new model resembles Google Pixel smartphones which was first launched in 2016: "Kinda looks like Google pixel right?"
However, there were some users (@allaboutdro) that liked the design and the new colors: "I need the orange one and I will have that i swear 🙏🏽🙌🏾"
Another user (@ShesFishy) did have an opinion about the color of the phone: "They fumbled by not adding a black one."
One more user (@EternalXShine) said: "Not pink or green we lost + this iPhone looks exactly like the 16 I don’t see any differences….."

What else did Apple announce other than iPhone 17?

On September 9, Apple launched new iPhones, Apple Watches, and Airpods which are scheduled to hit store shelves on September 19. The tech company announced for new iPhone models, including the newest iPhone 17 Air. It's thinner and lighter than other iPhone models, and starts at $999. The iPhone 17 is priced at $799.

The iPhone Pro was met with a $100 price bump and is priced at $1,099. iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced at $1,199 and up.

The tech giant also announced new AirPods Pro 3, which have improved audio quality and noise cancellation. The new Airpods will be able to translate conversations in foreign languages in real time and are priced at $249.

The tech company also released three new watch models, including Series 11. Apple's iOs 26 will also be made available as a free software update on September 15.
