“We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery”: Kamala Harris extends support for Joe Biden after his cancer diagnosis

Kamala Harris sends out her well-wishes to former President Joe Biden after it was revealed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive and advanced prostate cancer. Kamala, who served as Vice President of the United States under Biden from 2021 to 2025, said in a recent X post:

"Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time. Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery." - @KamalaHarris posted.

Harris is not the only one who sent out her well-wishes to the former President. Other politicians, including President Donald Trump, former President Barack Obama, and a few others, have also sent their regards.

President Donald Trump also shared his "get well soon" wishes on Truth Social. He wrote:

"Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery."

The 44th President of the US, Barack Obama, also shared his message for Joe Biden on X after hearing the news of the former President's diagnosis. He wrote:

"Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery."

Additionally, Meghan McCain, the daughter of John Sidney McCain III, lost her father to brain cancer. He was an American statesman and a Representative from Arizona. She wrote on X:

"Cancer is the absolute worst. It is hell. It is incredibly difficult for any family, anywhere that has to deal with it. Wishing nothing but healing, prayers, light and strength to President Biden and his family. I don’t believe times like these are appropriate for politics."

Regarding Joe Biden's prostate cancer, Dr. Matthew Smith of Massachusetts General Brigham Cancer Center said:

"It’s very treatable, but not curable... Most men in this situation would be treated with drugs and would not be advised to have either surgery or radiation therapy."
