Elon Musk, who just earlier this month was spotted attending the US-Saudi Arabia Investment Center, recently opened up about his views on the future of world currency. According to reports, Musk appeared on the People by WTF podcast on Sunday, November 30, where he spoke about a range of issues, including the future of AI. He said:

According to USA Today, Elon Musk was recently announced to be on the path to becoming a trillionaire after a new deal was approved by the Tesla Board of Directors earlier this month on November 6. This deal was criticized by several prominent celebrities, most notably by Billie Eilish, who reshared a post calling out the Tesla CEO and indicating that Musk could do many other things, like end world hunger, with his trillionaire status.
More from Elon Musk's interview, as he talks about his vision of the true currency of the world
In his appearance on the People by WTF podcast, hosted by entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath, the founder of Zerodha and True Beacon, Elon Musk explained why he considers energy to be the one true currency. He went on to explain that Bitcoin is based on energy, making it difficult to use legislation to control it. He said:
"Currencies, if you will, that are physics-based. So energy is the real, the true currency. This is why I said Bitcoin is based on energy. You can't legislate energy. You can't just pass a land suddenly have a lot of energy. It's very difficult to generate energy, especially to harness energy in a useful way to do useful work."
Elon Musk, who launched Grokipedia on October 27, also highlighted the future of the job market, explaining why he thinks that soon, in less than twenty years, people will no longer work. He said:
"I think it will actually be that people don’t have to work at all. My prediction is less than 20 years. Working at all will be optional, like a hobby, pretty much. And that would be because of increased productivity, meaning people won’t have to work to afford things. In the same way you can grow your own vegetables in your garden, or you can go to the store and buy them. It’s much harder to grow your own vegetables, but some people like doing that, which is fine."
Elon Musk also spoke about the future of AI and how its advancement will eventually allow humans to stop working. He went on to explain how everything will be easily attainable, adding, "If you can think of it, you can have it."
