Internet reacts as BLACKPINK’s “Boombayah” gets featured in season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday, saying,

"Wednesday if she had taste in music"

Netflix's popular TV series Wednesday, featuring Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta Jones, Emma Myers, and more, just released the second part of its season 2 and while the story progresses with more thrilling plots and spooky moments, fans noticed that in one episode, Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, seems to be vibing and getting ready with global sensation BLACKPINK’s “Boombayah” playing in the background.

The clip of the scene, where Jenna is wearing a colourful outfit, putting on bright makeup and dancing around, all traits that are absolutely not related to her character, soon went viral, assembling Blinks (BLACKPINK fans) from all over. The clip ends with the voice of Emma Myers, who plays Enid, saying,

"Admit it, this is the Wednesday Addams you didn't know you needed."

Fans were completely flabbergasted after seeing this. People who saw the clips online assumed that either it was an edit with the song, or some even expressed that it might be AI-generated, refusing to believe the song was actually added to the series.

One user noted, "The way it stopped right on jenna when Jennie name was said in the lyrics and Jenna appear. ICONIC"
Another added, "Haha, Wednesday Addams grooving to BLACKPINK's BOOMBAYAH? That’s a vibe I can totally picture her deadpan stare while nailing those sharp dance moves in her iconic red dress."
One user complimented the cast of the show, "Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers really killed it in this episode. Without spoilers, they were extremely convincing."
While some couldn't connect Wednesday's character with the song, movements or the outfit, "It’s little bit strange imagine jenna ortega who has iconic with her wednesday clothes character suddenly appears with colorful clothes"
A fan said, "This is the spooky K-pop collab we didn’t know we needed—BLACKPINK in the Addams mansion? Iconic!"
While one had a completely different reaction, "wednesday addams dancing to boombayah is peak 2025 brain rot and i’m not sure i’ll recover."

The clip is featured in the sixth episode of the second season, titled Woe Thyself is the longest in length. As for the song, Boombayah was first released on August 8, 2016, from Blackpink's debut album, Square One. Wednesday music supervisor Nicole Weisberg revealed why the song was chosen for the opening sequence, telling Billboard,

"Producers had this song in mind, and also, I think the nature of the song and the way the lyrics are, it kind of makes for a playful moment instead of, like, a K-pop love song. BOOMBAYAH and the way that song felt called for the comedic dancing that was going to go with it. But really, Jenna brought that whole sequence to life."

This also seems on par with Emma Myers, who is an avid Kpop fan in real life.
