Terrel Ephron, known by his stage name A$AP Relli, has reportedly dropped his lawsuit against A$AP Rocky over claims that the latter had shot him in 2021. Following a trial, Rocky was found "not guilty" in January 2025, and the jury acquitted him of "two felony counts of assault", per The Guardian.

In a recent update, Relli reportedly conveyed a message to Billboard through his lawyer, Aaron Morris. He confirmed that Relli has decided to drop the charges and explained,

"At this point, he’s ready to simply move on from the shooting. The ordeal has been a nightmare for him, and the statements calling him a ‘liar’ and worse effectively eliminated his chances of a career in the industry.”

Billboard reported that Morris would be filing the dismissal of the assault lawsuit later this week. However, he added that they will pursue a separate defamation lawsuit against Rocky and his lawyer, Joe Tacopina.

A$AP Relli is reportedly dropping the assault lawsuit against his former friend and group member of A$AP Mob, A$AP Rocky. However, his lawyer, Aaron Morris, confirmed that they will continue to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Rocky and Joe Tacopina. According to The Guardian, Tacopina had previously described Relli as a "jealous opportunist" and at other times described his claims as a "get-rich-quick scheme."

According to E! News, Tacopina reportedly also described Relli as an "angry pathological liar" during the closing statements of the trial. Aaron Morris told Billboard,

"He’s going to litigate the defamation action because of the damages it caused, but as to the shooting, he’s thankful he wasn’t hurt worse and is focusing on rebuilding his life."

Courthouse News reported that Tacopina had reportedly filed an "anti-SLAPP motion" and claimed that his statements against A$AP Relli would be protected by litigation privilege.

However, the news outlet noted that Judge Randolph Hammock had denied the motion and explained that the privilege doesn't cover Tacopina's comments or interviews with outlets like TMZ and others. In the lawsuit, Relli has claimed that he has received "death threats on social media and has been the subject of ridicule and abuse."

While A$AP Relli has dropped the assault lawsuit against Rocky, he has claimed "emotional damages" in a defamation lawsuit. According to Courthouse News, a trial is tentatively set for January 2026, and Relli has reportedly hired a new team of civil lawyers.

At the time of writing, Rocky or his representatives have not commented about the defamation lawsuit.
