Podcaster and influencer Bobbi Althoff shared her thoughts about her mother on the June 25 episode of her The Really Good Podcast. She sat down with rapper Lil Tjay and discussed his career and life choices.
Althoff asked Tjay to share his thoughts about getting married and having kids. The rapper said he didn’t want to rush into having kids. She suggested that he wait until 40, but Tjay wasn’t sure about that. However, he felt that the present generation has become used to the idea of having baby mothers.
The influencer said she found the idea crazy, hinting that her mother did the same. She added:
“I thought I would be married forever. I didn’t think that I was having kids in a broken home but it happened. I judged my mom a lot for doing that. She had two baby daddies and I was like, ‘You are a h*e.’”
Bobbi Althoff went on:
“And then I got divorced and if I have more kids, I will have two baby daddies and that’s kind of crazy.”
She suggested to Lil Tjay that he marry one person and stay with them for life. The rapper asked how many kids she wanted, and Althoff replied four. Bobbi Althoff said she already has two daughters, and her eldest one is five.
When she asked if Lil Tjay had siblings, he said yes but mentioned that he was adopted as an only child and didn’t get a chance to grow up with siblings.
Bobbi Althoff looks back on the pain of giving birth to her daughters
During the podcast, Bobbi Althoff spotted a tattoo on Lil Tjay’s left arm. When asked what it meant, he said it was his grandmother’s name. Mentioning it was a cute gesture, the influencer said she even had her grandmother’s name tattooed. Tjay asked her if she was scared of pain, to which she replied:
“I mean I've had two kids and that was pretty painful. So I don't think I'm too afraid of pain. Yeah. It's the most painful thing you could go through.”
Bobbi Althoff explained that the painful part of having a baby wasn’t pushing but the contractions. She said it felt like her insides were being hurt with a knife. Once she got an epidural, the pain went away, and she felt fine.
She said regular cramps were nothing compared to contractions, which hurt so much that she begged the doctors both times to give her a C-section or just put her to sleep because the pain was unbearable.
Bobbi Althoff was married to author Cory Althoff. They separated in 2023, with their divorce being settled in 2024. Speaking about her divorce, she took to her Instagram and wrote that she felt sad but was thankful for the time she spent as Cory’s wife.
She said their daughters were lucky to have him as their father, and she felt lucky to co-parent with such a great father and person. Even though their marriage didn’t work out, she said they would always remain friends and she would always love him.
