On December 17, over 15,000 Canva users complained that the website was not working or loading their projects. The problem arose around 2:56 p.m. PT. The graphic design platform has not revealed the official causes for the outage. Some possible reasons, according to Red94, could be due to technical or system issues.

Users were reporting blank screens and access errors when they were trying to load their designs. While the majority of complaints were aimed at the website, users seem to have better luck with the mobile app. According to Downdetector, 80% of the reports were for server connection, 17% was for issues with the website, and 3% had problems with the mobile application.

Canva has posted on its official website that the graphic design platform is up and working. According to the Canva Status page, all systems are operational. The update was posted on the website at 12:50 AEDT on December 18, saying:

"This incident is now resolved. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

According to Red94, Canva users also complained about how their projects were not loading, making it impossible for them to download, edit, or retrieve any of their previous work. Users were also seeing an error message when they tried to log into their accounts.

Furthermore, this outage affected numerous people in the creative field, especially freelancers, designers, and small business owners who were depending on the platform. People on social media complained about how it was impossible to meet tight deadlines and urgent matters because of the outage.

When was the last time Canva experienced an outage?

It has not been too long since the last time Canva users reported issues with the graphic design platform. 12 days ago, the platform faced a similar outage for approximately 24 minutes because of Cloudflare infrastructure failures.

Repeated outages show that cloud systems struggle when too many users are online at once. This raises concerns about whether backup systems are strong enough to protect important tools.

The graphic design platform has also been active on X, replying to numerous users, letting them know that the website and mobile applications are working again.

One of the replies read:

"Letting you know that we’re up again! Feel free to DM us if you need more help. We’ll be here!"

Another response reads:

"Had a quick hiccup but everything should be back by now. Mind clearing your browser’s cookies and cache? Let us know how it goes!"

On December 17, thousands of users faced problems accessing the website and loading their projects. The outage affected many professionals, causing delays in work and missed deadlines. It was later confirmed that the issue was fixed and all systems are now working normally.
