Coldplay fans are left disappointed as the frontman, Chris Martin, gave a tribute to Charlie Kirk and his family at his recent concert. At their Wembley Stadium concert in London, he addresses the crowd just before playing Fix You in a now viral clip.

In the video, he asks the fans to put their arms in the air and says:

"For the final time for a few years in London, let’s raise our hands like this, and send love anywhere you wanna send it in the world. There are so many places that might need it today."

He continues:

"So, here it comes from London. You can send this to your brother or your sister, you can send it to the families of people who have been going through terrible stuff, you can send it to Charlie Kirk’s family, you can send it to anybody’s family."

Martin further added:

"You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway… You can send it to peaceful people in the Middle East, in Ukraine and Russia."

Fans took to social media to express their disappointment with Chris Martin, especially considering the right-wing activist was never a fan of the band. After the Kiss Cam debacle that happened a few months back involving Astronomer's CEO, Charlie Kirk stated, in a now resurfaced video, that he "would rather be caught dead than be at a Coldplay concert."

He further added:

"I would rather go to a WNBA game than go to a Coldplay concert. I couldn’t think of something more boring and banal and a waste of time."

About Charlie Kirk's shooting

The political influencer was shot earlier this week while giving a presentation at Utah Valley University as part of his first stop on Turning Point’s “American Comeback Tour." He was shot in the neck from 200 yards away, and a 22-year-old university student, Tyler Robinson, has been arrested as a suspect in the incident.

Kirk is to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States, which is granted to people with exceptional contributions to world peace, national security, or American cultural endeavors.

President Donald Trump announced this during his 9/11 remembrance speech at the Pentagon:

“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions and millions of people. We miss him greatly, yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on.”

Trump was also the first person to announce Charlie Kirk's passing.
