Young Thug has issued a heartfelt apology to Mariah the Scientist, following the leak of jail calls that brought his relationship with the singer-songwriter to the limelight.

In his recent post on X, shared on September 7, 2025, Young Thug acknowledged that he was wrong and expressed regret for the distress he caused her, adding that she deserved better treatment from him. He further expressed his willingness to do everything it takes to repair their relationship.

He wrote:

“My baby I was wrong and I’m sorry for what I put u through. U deserved better from me. Thank you for everything and I will do anything to make this work. U showed me what love is and I hope I haven’t lost u forever… everybody leave her out of this please she’s an innocent girl and feels bad about all of this. Please give her peace.”

Leaked jail call with Leena Sayed

Young Thug’s September 2025 apology to Mariah the Scientist was not the first time he had said sorry. Back in December 2024, he apologized to her after his 2022 jail call with Instagram model Leena Sayed sparked controversy.

According to Complex, the leaked jail call, which surfaced in December 2024, showed an emotional conversation between Young Thug and Sayed. During the call, Sayed is seen apologising for something that “came out wrong,” adding that she “did not mean it that way.”

She said:

“I should have never repeated it. I should have never said that.”This is something that someone else told me, and I feel like I should have never said that to you.”

She further added:

“I don’t like anyone. No one’s like you. I don’t like them, I want you.”

After the clip was shared online, Thug took to X to address the situation. Referring to Sayed as his “twin,” he said:

“Man me and twin was talking bout some whole other serious shit, I don’t know y she spoke on loving other people or anything else cause ain giving no f*ck bout no h*es or n*ggas I’m the capital P lol that’s my twin and nothing else. Never have never will lol.”

Sayed is rumored to be romantically linked to boxer Devin Haney. She announced her pregnancy in August 2024.

Mariah The Scientist started dating Young Thug in 2021. He recently admitted to cheating on Mariah days before his RICO arrest in May 2022.

In the leaked recording, he discussed an incident when another woman posted photos from his Atlanta condo. This prompted Mariah to confront him. He admitted to downplaying the situation, claiming that it happened “a minute ago” when it actually happened a day before his arrest.

Additionally, in a separate leaked call from December 2024, Young Thug told a friend he spoke to “at least 10 other girls” weekly while incarcerated, “just to kill time.” During this time, he was in a relationship with Mariah.
