Model and socialite Hailey Bieber explained that she was inspired by Ariana Grande while dealing with online hatred. In her Vogue cover interview, published on May 20, 2025, it was mentioned that Bieber could relate to one of Grande’s quotes that the latter said while dealing with body shaming comments for her film, Wicked.
At that time, the singer said she didn’t welcome those negative comments anymore. Bieber told the magazine outlet,
“It was so true to me when she said that. I am in a space where I just don’t accept it. I don’t allow it anymore. We don’t have to allow those things into our space if we don’t want to.”
Elsewhere during the conversation, Hailey Bieber shared that she often felt like she had to work hard to be understood and seen for who she was, but many people still refused to see her that way.
Hailey Bieber explained that trying to correct false stories or explain her side didn’t always help, because people would accuse her of lying. She described the experience as very frustrating. Speaking about Justin, she said:
“I’ve learned so much from Justin, really. He’s been doing this literally since he was a child and he has had to face the most scrutiny of any person that I know. He was like, ‘Baby, trust me, I’ve been here before many, many times. You’re not going to win. There is no winning.’”
Hailey Bieber on her experiences of being postpartum and giving herself time
Hailey Bieber talked about how, despite everything, she had a real life filled with love from her family, her son, and close friends who cared for her. Getting to that point took a lot of therapy, and she explained that talking about issues helped her process her emotions.
She described postpartum as one of the most emotionally intense times she had ever experienced, and figuring out who she was after becoming a mother was a challenge.
On top of that, dealing with constant rumors online about her marriage and happiness made situations more difficult and overwhelming. Reflecting on the changes she gradually imbibed, Hailey Bieber said,
“I was so not confrontational before. It was not easy for me to express things that bothered me or when people were pushing or stepping over boundaries. And now I just feel so much more clear about, Hey, this does not work for me.”
Hailey Bieber shared that she felt more comfortable and confident in herself than ever before. She explained that with time, she started caring less about anything that didn’t matter and focused her energy where it counted. Speaking of her son, she said,
“Every day I have to talk to myself, like, Hailey, you had a baby. You grew a human. You birthed a human. It’s okay. Give yourself grace. Give yourself time.”
Her child became her top priority, and nothing else felt as important. She said motherhood grounded her and taught her a lot, not just about herself, but also about her relationship. It gave her a new perspective on her partner and their connection.
