Jodie Kidd was forced to shut down her West Sussex pub temporarily after allegations that she subjected her staff to "physical and verbal abuse" emerged.

The model, 46, reportedly closed the doors to The Half Moon pub three days after her staff alleged that they were mistreated. A post on Instagram announcing the same reads:

"We've worked hard to create more than just a pub - we've built a home. A place for people to come together, enjoy good times, and make memories. While we know we won't be to everyone's taste, it saddens us that in recent weeks we as a Team have faced abuse - both verbal and physical. We'd like to remind everyone that behind The Half Moon is a team of people who care deeply about what we do. We are human."

Everything we know about Jodie Kidd's The Half Moon pub's setback:

Jodie Kidd purchased the pub, which is listed as a Grade II 15th century pub, in 2017, when it was facing closure. She has been running it ever since, alongside two business partners. It was recently named as "one of the seven best pubs owned by celebrities in the UK" by Tom Carter, a renowned food critic.

The pub's post on Instagram continues:

"Independent businesses like ours work tirelessly, seven days a week, driven by passion, love, and honesty, to give our best. All we ask in return is respect."

Another post informed its customers that the pub would be reopening its doors on Thursday, September 25.

'As many of you know, the work never truly stops behind the scenes, so taking some time to rest and recharge is essential. We will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and will reopen on Thursday 25th September at 12 Noon as normal,' they wrote.

As of this writing, Jodie Kidd has yet to address the situation herself. News of mistreatment at her pub, which also reportedly boasts two AA Rosettes and was two AA Rosettes, comes on the heels of a recent survey from PPL/PRS that found hospitality staff often experience poor mental health due to the stress of their job, per The Morning Advertiser.

Jodie Kidd previously spoke to the outlet about the struggles of being an operator and the importance of choosing a good circle in life:

"Your team is so important. The people you can rely on to support you, to help navigate, be shoulder to shoulder with you when the times get tough and you can sit and enjoy the wonderful ups and moments with as well. My team is like my family and I love and adore them all. Even the guys who have moved on I am still such good friends with 90% of them."

The Review Magazine reportedly lauded The Half Moon, describing it as "comfortable and relaxed" and its owner, Jodie Kidd, as "hands on."
