Members of the Mexican music group, Grupo Fugitivo, who had reportedly been missing since May 25 in Reynosa, near the US border. In a new update shared by the Mexican authorities, it was confirmed that the bodies of the members were found on the "fringes of Reynosa" on May 29, 2025.

According to NBC, nine alleged members were arrested in light of the cartel killing in the city. While the authorities didn't reveal the reason, they also didn't deny that the bodies were burned.

The group members, including Francisco Xavier Vázquez Osorio (20), Nemesio Antonio Durán Rodríguez (40), Livan Edyberto Solís de la Rosa (27), Víctor Manuel Garza Cervantes (21), and José Francisco Morales Martínez (23), were reportedly on their way to a performance when their families last heard from them.

A local Mexican group, Grupo Fugitivo, was reportedly arrested and subsequently murdered in connection with cartel killings. Authorities confirmed that they have made nine arrests. According to Attorney General Irving Barrios Mojica, the suspects are allegedly linked to the "Los Metros" cell of the Gulf Cartel, per Mexican Daily news.

However, the motives are unclear and haven't been established. Following their disappearance, protestors reportedly blocked the "international bridge between Reynosa and Pharr, Texas" on May 28.

The details of the horrific incident are yet to be revealed, while fans and family members grieve the loss of the band members. According to NBC, the case follows the kidnapping and murder of the "musical group Los Norteños de Río Bravo in 2018.
