Rapper Fat Joe accused of misusing tour pay to cover tax debts. Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, is facing serious legal trouble. His former hype man, Terrance “TA” Dixon, has filed new court documents alleging that the rapper used his tour per diem to pay off tax debts.

According to Dixon, he was supposed to be getting paid $3,000 to $5,000 per show, plus a daily per diem. Later, he learned that he was supposed to receive up to $30,000 per show to appear on stage with Fat Joe. Instead, TA claimed he received as little as $250 to $1,000 per appearance.

In the complaint filed, Dixon states that Fat Joe was pocketing the rest, which included the per diem, to pay down his tax debt.

In 2013, Joseph served four months in federal prison for not paying the government over $700,000 in taxable income from 2007 to 2010. The former hypeman found out about his loss from a former Roc Nation manager and accountant. They stated that the company was aware of the per diem arrangement and the fact that he wasn’t being paid properly.

The lawsuit is filed under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). It names Fat Joe, Roc Nation, Pistol Pete, Rich Player, and several affiliated companies as defendants. Roc Nation is accused of playing a direct and active role in the scheme.

In addition to financial allegations, Dixon has also accused Joe of coercion involving sexual misconduct. He further alleges that he was coerced into sexual acts in front of Terror Squad members, claiming the number exceeded 4,000 women. He has also claimed that Fat Joe was in love with underage girls and even allegedly plotted the assassination of 50 Cent during a feud.

Fat Joe's statement

Though Roc Nation hasn’t issued a statement yet, Fat Joe expressed, “These claims are false, defamatory, and rooted in financial desperation. Mr. Cartagena will vigorously defend his name and reputation.”

Joe also issues a statement via Instagram on June 26, indirectly addressing the allegations.

"I've been tested the last few months - I've lost my big brother, my father, my mother and now I'm fighting against these disgusting lies. But please know I will not break and I will NEVER back down. I've had individuals in my circle take my love and kindness for weakness, but how many times must we forgive them? I've had people steal from me, grow jealous of me, lie on me," he expressed.

He further added:

”If you get fired for doing something wrong, just take the L and live with it. But instead, they plot on your downfall as they watch you move on with your life. They decide to go after one of the things you value the most - your reputation. They figure they can make up the most insane stories and, if they threaten you with a lawsuit, then you'll pay and they'll feel like they finally won."

The statement concluded with him calling out Dixon's attorney,

"Mr. Tyrone Blackburn attorney at law since you want the clout, we will finish you in court. The time of lawyers using their law license as a badge to extort people and destroy families with no evidence is over!!
