Lilly Tino, a transgender TikToker, is currently facing scrutiny after sharing photos taken inside a women’s restroom at Disney World. According to recent reports, Florida’s Attorney General has launched an investigation into the incident. Public records identify her as Nicholas Sylvan Contino, the name she was given at birth.
On May 26, 2025, she posted a video on Instagram where she said she had to use a ladies’ washroom. Lilly Tino said:
“I know Florida is really conservative. I don’t know what the rules are. If trans women are allowed to be in women’s bathrooms but I am about to go and use the bathroom cause I have to t*nkle. If I get stopped, I get stopped I guess but I am a woman so I am gonna use the women’s bathroom and being in Florida or being in California or wherever isn’t gonna stop me.”
She then said she could use the washroom without facing any issue. However, as she was about to get out of the washroom, she took a photo with a fan. Tino said her experience in Disney World was a 10 out of 10, especially her restroom experience.
On June 2, 2025, she posted a carousel, ranking every bathroom she used in Disney World. In the caption, she thanked the place as she enjoyed a good experience. Lilly Tino wrote:
“Shoutout to @disneyparks for creating a safe space in the hellscape that is Florida.”
How did Lilly Tino respond to the backlash?
The bathroom selfies weren’t well-received by the audience. Lilly Tino posted another video and pointed out that many people, celebrities and everyday women alike, have taken photos in public restrooms because they felt they looked nice and wanted to capture the moment.
She questioned why it was seen as inappropriate when she did it and suggested the backlash was likely because she is a trans woman. Lilly acknowledged that trans women are judged by different standards, especially based on whether or not they “pass” as cisgender.
She admitted that she doesn’t pass but emphasized that all trans women, regardless of how they look, deserve equal treatment and should feel just as free to take photos without facing discrimination. Lilly Tino captioned the post:
“And to those pulling the “it’s not allowed in Florida” card, that law only applies to buildings owned or leased by the state of Florida (so not Disney). And even if it wasn’t allowed, who cares! Let us t*nkle in peace.”
Her posts drew backlash from critics, including author J.K. Rowling, who has been widely criticized for her stance on transgender rights. Rowling wrote on X:
“This man's bathroom photos are trophies. He wants women and girls in the background because it proves he's violating women's boundaries. Without actual females there as props all he's got is a selfie of a scary-looking creep in mouse ears, which isn't remotely what he's after.”
Now, as per reports, a petition was filed by someone claiming to be a concerned parent who expressed worry over Lilly Tino's behavior, especially around minors. The petition argued that letting her keep using TikTok might make questionable actions seem acceptable and could possibly put children in danger.
