Mike Lindell and his company, FrankSpeech, lost a lawsuit on Monday, June 16, 2025, against a former employee of Dominion Voting Systems.
A federal jury in Colorado, Denver found MyPillow CEO/Founder guilty of defaming Eric Coomer. According to the Associated Press, two of Lindell’s statements were found defamatory. The jury further ordered Mike and his media platform, FrankSpeech, to pay Coomer $2.3 million in damages.
Based on estimates from CelebrityNetWorth, the businessman once had a fortune close to $300M. Per CBS-affiliated WUSA 9, the Minnesota native also revealed in court filings that MyPillow was generating $300 million at one point, but he claimed to have had no money in April 2025.
According to CelebrityNetWorth, Mike Lindell has a net worth of $0 as of June 2025, following his defeat in the lawsuit. The MyPillow CEO reportedly said during a court hearing in April (via WUSA 9),
“Nobody will borrow me any more. Not one dime. I’m in ruins.”
Mike Lindell claimed that he and his company owed the IRS $70 million and was living off $1000/week. He also said during the April hearing (via WUSA 9),
“I don’t have $5,000 or 5 cents.”
In his lawsuit against Mike Lindell and FrankSpeech, Eric Coomer initially sought $62.7M. In contrast, the final ruling awarded $2.3 million, which the MyPillow CEO and his media company are liable to pay.
Mike Lindell views MyPillow’s vindication as “victory,” hints at appealing the judgment
According to Courthouse News Service, the jury's findings included two instances when the Minnesota-based business executive’s speech was defamatory towards the plaintiff. The first occasion was dated May 9, 2021, while the other comment was reportedly made on May 6, 2022.
Despite losing the defamation case and getting penalized with $2.3M, Mike Lindell claimed victory after MyPillow was cleared of the charges. He told Reuters after the decision,
“I am very happy that MyPillow was 100% vindicated.”
Per Courthouse News Service, Lindell also spoke to the ex-New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani, on a call. He also told the outlet,
“MyPillow should have never been sued. The media should stop backing companies that rhyme with Dominion and Smartmatic.”
According to the Associated Press, the defendant will appeal the jury’s financial award to Eric Coomer. Mike Lindell reportedly claimed that the plaintiff’s lawyers weren’t able to prove that he had been harmed. Almost a week before the judgment, Lindell had called out Coomer’s lawyer, per the Associated Press. He was quoted saying earlier this month,
“You’re part of the biggest coverup of the biggest crime the world has ever seen.”
Lindell apparently claimed that he was worth about $60M before the trial but was currently $10M in debt. He reportedly told Coomer’s lawyer, Charles Cain, during questioning (via AP),
“I believe what you did to me and MyPillow was criminal.”
Mike Lindell had also set up a GiveSendGo to raise funds for his legal defense. According to the Associated Press, in October 2023, the business executive claimed that MyPillow had been decimated and added that his company “lost hundreds of millions of dollars.” It was also reported that his and MyPillow’s attorneys sought the court's permission to quit.
Following the decision, Mike Lindell has reaffirmed that he will continue to attack “Dominion,” according to Courthouse News Service. Per Reuters, Dominion Voting Systems separately sued Lindell 2021, which is still underway in Washington DC. The company had also filed a suit against Fox, which was settled for $787.5M, making it one of the country’s largest defamation settlements, per NYT.
