Twin Cities musician Alexander O'Neal and his wife were rushed to a hospital on Friday morning after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Burnsville.

KARE-TV has reported that Alexander O'Neal and his wife, Cynthia, were loaded into an ambulance. Burnsville fire officials responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. Friday on the third floor of the Willoway Apartments. A neighbor noticed the inferno and called 911. Upon the engines' arrival, three alarms were rung in to call for mutual aid resources from surrounding communities.

TMZ has reported that four units in the apartment building were deemed unfit to reoccupy after the fire ravaged the space, though all other residents were allowed to come back. As of this writing, the cause for the flames remains unclear, as do the health statuses of both the musician and his wife.

Fans have since begun wondering about Alexander O'Neal's personal life. The American R&B singer reportedly boasts $3 million in net worth, Celebrity Net Worth has reported. He is most known for songs like "If You Were Here Tonight", "Criticize" and "Fake."

Alexander O'Neal's life and legacy explored as his former bandmate dies unexpectedly:

TMZ has reported that Alexander O'Neal also famously worked with the late Prince in the 1980s as the lead singer of his side project called The Time. However, he was fired before the band released any albums. After that, Morris Day stepped in to lead the group.

Nonetheless, O'Neal reportedly had a successful career in his own right, having released 10 hit albums over the years. He was also a part of a group called "The Mystics" and, for a brief period, "Enterprise." He was eventually enlisted for "Flyte Tyme," a band that included Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Monte Moir.

Music Radar reported just last week that Jellybean Johnson, a founding member of the band that Alexander O'Neal was briefly a part of, The Time, died at the age of 69. He frequently backed Prince up on his tours and famously appeared as his musical rival in the Purple Rain movie.

He was also a guitarist and producer, having co-written and co-produced Alexander O’Neal’s hit Criticize. He also famously co-produced Janet Jackson’s 1990 single Black Cat. Later in his life, he joined Rihanna on stage at the 2008 Grammy Awards when they harmonized to The Time's Jungle Love and her own Umbrella and Don’t Stop The Music.
