There has been a misunderstanding between Prince Harry's team and Buckingham Palace over his recent visit to Canada, which has sparked some unsavory tension.

The Duke of Sussex started his trip commemorating Remembrance Day in Toronto earlier this month, which is the U.K. equivalent of Veterans Day. Prince Harry's team claimed that they announced the trip on November 3, around the same time as Prince William touched down in Rio De Janeiro for his Earthshot Prize week. However, the palace was caught by surprise, essentially denying that they were informed of this trip.

As a gesture of an olive branch, Prince Harry and his team had offered to share his schedule with the royal family in an attempt to provide transparency and, in turn, avoid any conflicts between the couple's public outings and official engagements of the royal family. Adding to this, they also wanted to avoid the risk of overshadowing each other.

This comes after a slew of controversies and backlash the couple has faced in the past few weeks. A few years ago, the former actress and wife of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, was accused of faking a celebration with bestie Kelly McKee Zajfen following the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series win against the Toronto Blue Jays. She had posted a video clip of the celebration, which eagle-eyed fans quickly analyzed and claimed was staged.

Another instance that landed the Sussex couple in hot water is when, earlier this month, the two attended Kris Jenner's birthday bash, which also had guests such as Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, who organized the event, and other stars, including Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, Vin Diesel, and Adele. Besides the fact that their attendance in general was questioned, some fans also noticed that a day after the party, both of them had been removed from the posts on Jenner's and Kim Kardashian's Instagram accounts.

While the trip announcement was made last minute, the trip and its events themselves had been in the works for months. Aside from the information about being caught off guard, the palace has not made any other comments.
