FunnyMike has just dropped the trailer for Streamer Prom, which takes place on June 18th at 8:00 PM.
For the unversed, FunnyMike is collaborating with Popeyes to throw a prom party for all streamers across Twitch. The event will be livestreamed and will see a host of streamers in attendance. The theme is likely to be black tie, and the streamer cum YouTuber, 28, just dropped a high-octane trailer for it. Check it out:
At the time of writing, it is unclear just who, or how many streamers, will be in attendance, though Jack Funny did RSVP for the same publicly on Instagram today. ExtraEmily is also likely to come. "Streamer Prom Here We Come!!" he captioned the trailer uploaded to his account.
DDG, another prolific streamer, has since taken to one of his livestreams to react to the trailer live, where he can be seen struggling with some internet issues while watching a snippet of what is likely to come.
"Fire, fire, fire!" DDG exclaimed. "That sh*t fire," he told FunnyMike later on FaceTime.
When he asked his fellow streamer how long he would be streaming for on that day, FunnyMike replied, "Oh, not long." He explained that it wouldn't be for the whole day, adding that streamers will have to walk the red carpet, walk into the ballroom, and then hear the host's entire speech before they can begin streaming.
During the FaceTime, the host of Streamer Prom also suggested that DDG received an email about the same, suggesting that he was invited, though it remains to be seen if he will be making it to the party.

Users react to FunnyMike's Streamer Prom with divided sentiments; some say prom should be for kids, some say it's going to be "lit"
While scores online are intrigued to know more about Streamer Prom, a few are also critiquing the streamers, with many claiming there's no reason for people in their mid-20s to be throwing a prom party. Here's how one naysayer reacted on X, for instance:
"This isn’t weird to anybody else? 20-30+ year olds going to “prom” ?"
The comments didn't end there:
"rather go to the dentist then watch this," someone quipped.
"streaming is becoming to over saturated now," another opined.
"they wanna be in school sooo bad omfg let it go!" one more exclaimed.
"What happened to my glorious streaming man," an X user questioned.
Even more chimed in with snarky opinions:
"Ya ni**as hating on it but still gonna watch," one user pointed out.
"This is going to be lit," someone else shared.
"Creativity is off the charts, something a lot of people lack on Twitch/Kick," another claimed.
"Yo the comments are a bunch lame “Isn’t he 30” these people act like they don’t understand what acting is. Just because they not on set and prerecording scenes don’t mean it ain’t entertaining. The fact that they live stream this and it’s all hilarious is funny af. Yall just not used to streaming being the new normal replacement for tv shows. It’s clear," yet another defended.
As of this writing, more details like the guest list remain unclear, though they are likely to be revealed in the coming days. In the meantime, stay tuned to SoapCentral for more updates!
