Tom Brady, an analyst for Fox Sports on September 22, made a questionable comment about George Pickens kicking his helmet sparking backlash from animal rights activist organization PETA. Pickens was seen angrily slamming his helmet down the sidelines during the game, when Brady said,

"And Picks is not happy, yeah, those moments can be...like the dog at home. Kick the dog, throw the helmet, whatever it takes."

While the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) did not accuse Brady of encouraging animal abuse, but asked the football quarterback to be mindful of his language,

"PETA encourages Brady to remember that millions of people listen to him, that the language we use can encourage kindness or violence towards animals, and that we should never normalize taking our frustration out on a beloved companion."

Many users wondered by his "kick the dog" comment, if Brady also abuses his dog, Fluffy at home. Brady and his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen rescued Fluffy back in 2016. The two also had another dog, Lua, who passed away in 2023.

Years before PETA expressed disapproval with Tom Brady's "kick the dog" comment at September 22's game, his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, also experienced PETA's wrath.

in 2002, during a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Gisele was confronted by PETA protestors who stormed the runway with signs that read: "Gisele: Fur Scum."

The event happened at the time when Bundchen had modeled for Blackglama, a renowned fur brand. However, their "What Becomes a Legend Most?" campaign with Gisele released at the time when animal rights activist were actively protesting for anti-fur campaigns. While security quickly helped remove the protestors, the model continued to walk the runway and finished the show.

Later while speaking to Vanity Fair, Gisele Bundchen revisited the incident and said,

"I thought they were going to hurt me. I didn't know what was going on."

Bundchen eventually wrote an apology letter to PETA and said,

"It was a bad decision on my part, because I don't wear fur. And I understand their cause. I am the biggest animal-lover in the world. I have four dogs and two horses, and I have rescued animals all my life."

Gisele and Tom Brady tied the knot in a private ceremony in February, 2009, and divorced in October, 2022. Tom Brady is yet to respond to the online backlash and PETA's statement.
