When did Kassi Ashton and Travis Myatt get engaged? Relationship explored as the country singer reveals details of her intimate wedding

Country singer Kassi Ashton and Travis Myatt tie the knot in an intimate wedding.

Kassi Ashton married her long-time partner in the same city where they first met and got engaged, on April 19. The intimate affair was attended by 45 people at The Ernest Hemingway Home in Key West, Florida.

In an exclusive with PEOPLE magazine, Kassi Ashton said,

"We wanted a small, intimate wedding centered around us and where we met. We wanted a week with our best friends ending in a weekend with our immediate family in our favorite place on earth, where we could swim in romantic escapism and get out of our everyday routine. We wanted to put our loved ones in our world, in our head, and in our love story."

The entire affair was dreamy, lowkey and straight out of a fairytale with elements of nature, pure aura and love, from having the rings blessed by the guests to the wedding aesthetic comprising of "antique silvers with organic textures like bone, shell, glass, and silk."

"While the harpist and cellist played 'The Rain Song' by Led Zeppelin and the rings were passed forward, it also meant we had a moment alone, without the attention on us. We were able to soak in the moment and speak with one another. It was one of the best choices for the ceremony that we made."

Kassi Ashton and Travis Myatt's relationship

The singer met her now-husband when they first crossed paths at the Key West Songwriting Festival in 2017. They were introduced by a mutual friend. After dating for 5 years, the pair got engaged in Key West on March 13, 2022.

"I had just signed my first publishing deal and he worked as a publisher at another company. I needed someone to walk me to my scooter a few blocks away from the bar late at night, which led to him driving us to the pier he later proposed on"

Kassi Ashton also shared the beautiful story of their engagement on her Instagram at the time with a post. In the caption, she shared exactly how the proposal went down.

"On the pier where we met, with a hand written declaration and our family secretly waiting on the beach. It's almost as if you and fate planned this all along. I love you so much @jtmyatt. He surprised me with this trip, my dream ring, my dream antique ring box, and my dream photographer, @ktcrabbphoto. I asked him how I was to repay him and he said, 'marry me.'"

Myatt had apparently popped the question with a three-page speech while their family jumped out with a surprise.
