The federal fraud case against Todd Chrisley and his wife led to a period of intense public scrutiny for Mark Braddock. Before starting work with Todd in 2005, Mark, a father and grandfather to two, held positions at AT&T and SAP Systems. Braddock has now transitioned into a new role within the real estate sector. According to Mark's LinkedIn profile, he joined the Santa Rosa Beach branch of Christie’s International Real Estate as a broker associate this February.

Mark has been a key figure in the federal fraud case against the Chrisleys. He has largely remained out of sight since the Todd Chrisley trial concluded. A licensed real estate agent since 2002, Braddock was described in his biography as a “seasoned real estate professional with over two decades of experience,” praised for his “thorough and reliable approach.” He previously worked at Engel & Völkers in Florida for over six years as a private office advisor.

Mark Braddock’s role in the Todd Chrisley case

Todd Chrisley’s federal fraud case took a sharp personal turn when his former business partner Mark Braddock testified to paying off a blackmailer to keep their past relationship secret. In court, Mark Braddock told a jury in Atlanta that he and Chrisley paid $38,000 in cash to an anonymous individual. The blackmailer had threatened to expose their early 2000s affair, which, according to Braddock, lasted roughly a year.

He shared that he had developed a deep and unconventional bond with Todd Chrisley, describing it as "brotherhood." However, this brotherhood faded after the former business partners stopped communicating in 2012.

Braddock was also the individual who ultimately reported Chrisley and his wife, Julie, to the FBI. His report led to the couple's arrest and conviction in 2022. Todd Chrisley and his wife were later found guilty of orchestrating a $30 million bank fraud scheme, receiving prison sentences of 12 and 7 years, respectively. Their incarceration ended this week after they were granted a pardon by President Donald Trump. They were released from custody the day after the pardon was issued.

While testifying in court, Braddock claimed he and Todd Chrisley had a romantic relationship in the early 2000s. This revelation, along with his role in alerting the FBI, played a significant part in dismantling the Chrisleys’ public image. Before the trial, the Chrisleys were known for their reality show Chrisley Knows Best. Braddock’s involvement in the trial marked a turning point. Since then, he has avoided public attention.

Mark Braddock also testified in court that he created fake financial documents and impersonated Chrisley in communications with banks. He stated that these actions were carried out with Chrisley’s knowledge. Braddock received immunity from prosecution in the case against Todd and Julie Chrisley.

He and Chrisley reportedly ended their working relationship in 2012, after Chrisley locked him out of the office and threatened legal action. Braddock told the court that he became vengeful afterward and created fake identities to leak information about the Chrisleys to authorities and the press.

Chrisley’s attorney, Bruce Morris, claimed Braddock was “obsessed” with his client and implied that Braddock believed he was Todd Chrisley. Braddock denied that claim and testified that the two had shared an intimate relationship.
