Detroit rapper Skilla Baby, whose real name is Trevon Gardner, was shot multiple times while he was in a black SUV.

He became a victim of a targeted drive-by shooting on the evening of May 22, 2025, near 8 Mile and Beech Daly in Redford, Michigan, a report in Fox2 Detroit stated. His SUV eventually crashed into a building on the road.

The report in the outlet further noted that he was shot in the hand and the head; he also received grazes to his head and back. He has been admitted to a local hospital, where he is currently recovering and is said to be okay. The Redford Township Police are investigating the shooting, and as of now, no suspects have been identified.

Sources further indicated that the rapper is alert and surrounded by his loved ones. He is currently kept under high security in the hospital.

“I started hooping in second grade, that's how I got my original nickname, 'Skillz. I had told my coach..., 'Let me play, I got skills. I didn't want to go to college, I didn't have no offers [basketball] because I kept getting in trouble. And I wasn't one of the best players in the nation. I was the best on my team and all that, but I just knew I wanted to get some money.”

He signed with Greffen Records in 2022. In April 2024, he released a 19-track album titled The Coldest. It features Rob49, DaBaby, Moneybagg Yo, Flo Milli, and Polo G, according to a report in Billboard.
