Madison’s recent pregnancy announcement came one year after the couple shared publicly that they had lost their baby boy at 26 weeks of gestation in June 2024.

The couple had shared their loss in a joint statement posted to both Instagram and TikTok:

“We are absolutely devastated to share the news that we lost our sweet baby boy this week, there are no words that can truly capture the depth of this pain. Nothing can prepare you for this. Our hearts will never be the same.”

In a personal tone, Madison added,

“I had the privilege of carrying you for 26 weeks, and we will carry you in our hearts for a lifetime. Until we meet again, Leo Grey.”

The pair later discussed the loss in more depth during an appearance on Baby, This is Keke Palmer. Speaking about how they coped, Madison revealed that using “dark humor” was a way of navigating the grief.

“I think for us, it was such a dark time that it felt like we truly were never gonna come up for air, but this is our trauma, and the way that I deal with things is through comedy.” she said.

"I was completely shocked and immediately thrilled, as a planner, I jumped right into 'dad mode' and started thinking of everything we had to do and prepare for," Bouffard shared.

Madison recalled being just as stunned.

"When I saw the test said 'positive,' I truly couldn't believe it. I had imagined how that moment could feel so many times before, but nothing can prepare you for the emotion of knowing you have a baby on the way and life is about to change," she said.

One of the most memorable parts of those early days for Bouffard was telling his parents.

"I was so excited to tell my parents. This will be their first grandchild so I couldn't wait to share the news with them. They knew we were on the fence about having kids, so this was definitely a happy surprise for them."

He had also shared how ready they felt to start that new chapter together.

"We knew we were ready when we talked about becoming parents every day. It became part of our regular conversation, and the timing finally felt right. I'm excited to have a mini 'us' enter the world. Half of me, half of her. But hopefully, it's 100% her personality."

With a touch of humor, Alexandra Madison had joked about how their dog might respond to the big change:

"I hope our dog doesn't get too jealous that he won't be an only child anymore. We're officially handing in our resignation letters as DINKS! (Dual Income No Kids)."
