TikToker Anna Sitar gets candid as she opens up about the struggles of having a career in front of the camera. Anna Sitar, who first went viral for her Starbucks order series in 2020, is an online creator based in the United States. In a TikTok video uploaded on July 29, she confessed how she doesn't understand her fame and what truly led her to this position.

Anna Sitar also has a podcast called Anna’s Guide, where she revealed that she’s “been trying to focus on putting myself on the bottom of the priority list”. Despite the admission, the online creator also shared that she tends to struggle with the feeling of "letting people down" when she fails to meet their expectations.

She has been pretty active on TikTok since the beginning of the pandemic, as she would post roughly 13.6 times per week, leading her to amass 11 million followers on the video posting site, through her simple reflections, humorous commentary, and fun storytelling.

What did Anna Sitar reveal?

According to E! News, in the now viral video, she expressed how she tends to overextend herself whenever she feels like she is not able to "show up for the people in my life in the way that they expect me to". She stated,

“It feels horribly validating to the imposter that I believe that I am all the time. I’ve been going to therapy for two years about an array of topics, but a major one centering this idea that I am failing if I don’t show up for the people in my life in the way that they expect me to. That I’ll do whatever it takes to make people happy and joyful—even if it’s not healthy for me or my mental health.”

Anna Sitar teared up in the video as she talked about her personality and the comments she has been receiving about the same.

“This comment section is really hitting a soft spot in me that it’s a bunch of people that I let down…that they expected me to be something and I wasn’t that. That hurts, and that makes me mad at myself. It makes me disappointed in myself.”

And while she normally doesn’t respond to hate comments, she told E! News in 2021,

“I just wanted my community to be a safe space for people. And if there ever is any floating negativity in the comment section, it's so incredible to see people step up. I don't even have to handle my hate comments anymore.”

Using her camera as a mini journal or diary, Anna Sitar has developed a sense of relatability and vulnerability with her followers, without oversharing too much or being kitschy.

Like most major TikTokers today, through her success, Anna Sitar has also landed prominent brand deals such as Netflix, T-Mobile, and Christian Dior, and has appearances at movie premieres and launch events. However, even her ambassadorships have a sense of authenticity as she aligns with brands that easily blend into her lifestyle and narrative.
